I have 3-5 pieces of 1/2" plate that are roughly 23"x24". I have a torch to make smaller targets(cause this is heavy s*it). What I need help with is, what kind of stands could I make besides doing a gong target. I wanna make these somewhat mobile and easy to pack up! So let's hear your ideas and hopefully I can put one to the test!

Oh yea I have a truck so no need to design it to pack away into the trunk of a car.

Silhouette targets are fun. you can make big ones and little ones for different ranges. You have to keep standing them up though unless you make something spring loaded or that you can reset.

Try looking in some catalogs like Midway. Most of the targets are easy to make.

Be careful of stuff bouncing back.

Have fun.

Anyone know where I can find strong enough springs to pop these metal targets back up?

I would just do a hanging target. build a stand that will have a crossbeam high enough for the gong to hang down and swivel. for the arm that hangs down I would angle it in case that gets shot it won't ricochet right back at you, and also something that can be taken off the stand for weight issues as well as ease of transportation.
