Anybody ever hear from this guy anymore? We were pretty good friends once upon a time, and it seems like he's sorta dropped off the map so to speak. Never knew his last name. He had one of the coolest collections of rare and antique guns I'd ever had the pleasure to peruse, before he sold most of them. I also owe him for introducing me to the wonder that is the P7. Would like to chat him up again sometime, and see how he's doin....

If you mean Mike (user name = 10and45)
Great guy, we could talk for hours. OH wait, we DID talk for hours. LOL

Last time I called his number (which was a few years ago) it was disconnected.
I wanted to keep in touch too, but he quit answering emails as well. :(

I do wonder, once in a while, how he is doing.

man last time I saw that guy he looked really sick. I honestly think that is why he was selling a lot of what he had. I hope he is ok, but he didnt look good last I saw him.

did he live pretty far to the west and had a few acres with basically a trailer on it?

Yeah, it was a decrepit sort of old ranch. He'd originally bought it with the intention of fixing it up, but got screwed over by several of the tenants he'd rented some of the outbuildings to. He changed his user name (can't remember what to) a few years back, and moved to Colorado Springs. That was the last I saw of him. I only knew it was him, because I recognized his Springfield TRP - his most prized possession left in the collection, and definitely the last thing he would have sold. I really miss the guy... we used to meet once a month to shoot the breeze and wreak havoc on hay targets in his back 40 acres. Lots of late night conversations over strong coffee spiked with scotch. Some good memories.

I fear the worst though - he was in a bad way last time I saw him. Wherever he is, God bless him, and I wish the best for him. He was a hell of a guy.

Was this Mike a former British subject and really speak like a true Limey?

He posts under "OldFart" on the RMGO site from time to time. I've done a good bit of trading with him, but can't find his number now. He's a great guy, very knowledgable about many things. In the Springs now. Yeah, BlasterBob, that's him. Caliber357 - don't fear the worst yet, he's still kickin'. I do remeber his "coffee"!

Glad to hear that he's still "kicking". He was in rather poor physical shape the last time I saw him (about 4 or 5 years ago) At that time he was getting rid of a "pile" of firearms etc, due to poor health. He was one of the few who'd allow a potential buyer/trader to test out one of his guns if the buyer wanted to. Thanks to you Fentonite for the update.

Bought a couple of things from him. I do remember when we were talking I mentioned that I had a few Fal's. I stopped and said that he would know them as "SLR's" I took a couple of them out for him to look at.
