Theres a bee shop on the north side of Ft Collins on college street.
I think he's looking for that vendor in particular.

either way, just trying to put money into a local guy instead of internet/ebay or whatever... need some beeswax - several pounds.
I'll try to lookup that ft.collins location...
none of my damn business, but whats the wax for?
I had an apiary insured last year. If I remember on Monday I'll ask what his business name was and look him up if you want.

I don't mind you asking... My family is in the traditional archery business, we need the beeswax for the bowstrings to keep them from fraying or rotting. Father uses the wax as a marketing tool, he molds/melts it into small dollar coin size pieces and gives them out to customers, and sells it etc.
Looks like we might have found someone close to home here that sells it reasonable. Jut had to surf a little more to find it. I just remembered the last tanner show had the guy selling honey/bee products, thought someone here might know who it was.
thanks for all the help... have thought about putting a hive in too, but I need to look up the local laws on that... everything has to be regulated...

Not just the regulation issues, you've also got to have something for the bees to get their pollen from.

Bees wax is also really good to coat a screw with that you're putting into wood. If you think you might need to be pulling the screw out at a later date, the wax can help it a lot.

I hear Soap works well too. Its a drive, but In Boulder theres place called McGuckin's They do stock some items from local places. I have to buy contact paper by the truck load and they have the kind i need in the qty I need. I do see candles and bees wax there. There were candles make out of something odd too, hemp/soy or something but they did not put out as much black sout like a normal candle does.

Appreciate it info. The retailers like McGuckins and the local art supply type places, want up to $16 a pound for the wax, unlike the direct buy or through ebay we can get it at $5 pound. Makes a difference in cost when buying several pounds of the stuff.
I'll check with the head honcho, see if he located any was today locally at a reasonable cost...

Looks like we picked some up locally at a reasonable price. $7 pound. Thanks everyone!
I just remembered my client's name as well, let me know if you'd still like his info to if he'd sell the wax to you.
I know you found it already, but I just saw this thread.
My wife bought honey from two different folks at Tanner last month. One of them was Colorado Honey Company, Fort Collins. The other was Busy Bee Farm, Larkspur
