No trailer yet, just pics. In Michigan? Chinese invasion? Michigan already went red. WTF!
I guess I'll take it.

Funny you brought this up since I just watched the original the other night on a movie channel. I'm pretty skeptical about a remake after all these years. Of course most folks nowadays probably won't even know about the original. Great classic [Beer]

I just saw the original the other day, too..
there may be ways to make a Chinese takeover believable, could be decent- but chances are Hollyweird will screw it up
The Chinese drop into Detroit,, Detroit welcomes Chinese with open arms,, Chinese get tired of Detroits "Give Me" attitude,,That makes the commies look like free market capitlist,, Chinese wipe Detroit off the map,,, Fade to black...

I don't think losing Detroit is worth going to war over? It might be for the best. Now if they were invading Disney land that would be cause for war, oh wait they have been doing that for years! [Rant1]

Whats ironic is the Chinese occupation propaganda looks every bit like it could be Obama/Democrat propaganda.

So if they are filming the movie in Detroit, I wonder where they filmed the pre-invasion scenes...
Now, I've never been to Detroit, but when I think of Detroit, I don't think about a large Boy Scout population or enough high school students that are avid hunters. I could be wrong though.

That's the beauty of filming in Detroit....You can film the pre-war scenes, then move over a couple of blocks and it's already post apocalyptic....

There is a lot of hunters in Detroit...its just more of a Running Man thing, though....
If its a remake why are they going to Michigan? It was set in Colorado last time.
Because it is standard remake protocol to fuck up all the good thins in the first version.

I really enjoy watching the original, and, since learning last fall about the Detroit locale, I'm not particularly eager to see the re-make.
I'm sure they'll be remaking Beverly Hills Cop with Chris Rock next.

Agreed... looking at the basics of the plot, I wouldn't be surprised if the ending has Obama retaking his throne after the Chinese are kicked out.
But honestly, maybe the Chinese foreclosed on the US government, and took the rust belt states as payment? Seems like a fair trade.

So the movie has a happy ending, then?
or Chris Tucker[NoClue]
He has some horrible movies, but I'll forgive him for the incredible performance in Fifth Element... it was an annoying character, sure. But the execution was flawless.

It's being filmed in Michigan, but apparently it's set in Spokane, WA, which makes more sense in terms of either an amphibious assault or an invasion through Alaska.
So the movie has a happy ending, then?
Of course, I always have been a sucker for a happy ending... [LOL]

I'll agree with that... highly entertaining in the role of annoying, incompetent conscripted sidekick [ROFL2]
he's not too bad if you don't take him seriously- there are much worse

I figure China will buy Canaduh and could invade any northern boarder state.
