I picked this up a few years ago at a garage sale and have been Googling it to no avail.Anyone have any ideas on make, age,or country ? Says fest on one side of lever, says lose on other side of lever. Also has 9923 stamped on lever. [IMG][IMG]http://i848.photobucket.com/albums/ab49/StagLefty/AR/scope3.jpg
Thanks in advance. Why do my new posts not come up in bold ?

Yes, it's German scope, don't recognize the manufacturer right now but I saw the same one on the photos.
Fest - means tight/stiff and Lose- means loose/unlock

What a great find! That is a WWII German ZF4 scope designed for the G-43 semi-auto rifle. I have the same scope (minus the mount) that my grandfather (101st Airborne Vet) brought back and gave me. PM me if you have any questions about it or its value.

Holy Crap !!! Looked around on collector sites now that I know it's a ZF4 scope and looks like it's worth about a grand !!! [Beer]

It is missing the front shade sleeve but still has the rubber eye piece. You should at least get a grand out of it if the optics are crystal clear. These where also used on K98's late war with a swept-back mount. Again, a great garage sale find. [Beer] (jealous)
