Actually there are other styles to jumping jacks than the one we're familiar with in the US. Several of them are doing the same motions repeatedly -- although others appear to be suffering an epileptic seizure.

If you went somewhere and they wanted you to do a jumping exercise that wasn't what you learned, would you just do jumping jacks instead?

It does show there's a lack of the absolute conformity discipline you see in US forces.

Does the army do burpees as part of their routine?

I've always over looked jumping jacks as exercise because I've always only done 10-30 in a row. Doing like 200 straight is a whole different deal though. How many jumping jacks do they usually do in a set?
