What do you think of buying a "law enforcement trade" from Summit Gun Brokers? I wonder how many rounds have been fired though them? My cousin is a HP and is given a large amount of ammo each month he must use. I forgot the amount but know those guns get a lot of use.

one of my uncles is a cop here in the denver area. i think he said he quals 1 time a year maybe. i guess it depends on the department. i would buy one if it was cheap enough.

just not now. i am broke.

Summit is an awesome dealer and everyone I know that bought guns from them have been very very pleased.

A lot of departments will only do quals once or twice a year. Some do it every quarter. A lot of the time it's only 2 or 3 mags worth.

LEO trade in's are carried a bunch but usually have little use on them. Check out a user named twogunjay on GT, last I saw he had 3rd gen G22's with night sights for $365 shipped.

I don't know Summit, but Dave's Guns out on Parker Rd. used to get a batch of police trade-ins once in a while. As said, they had some holster wear, but little shooting wear. I know a couple of people that bought these, and were very happy with them.

Your mileage may vary.

Daves has been gone for some time now, haven't they? I bought my first Mossy 500 from them quite a while back and they were always super helpful even though I was their window shopping all the time.

I picked up a Smith Model 10 from Dave's a few years ago, nice piece with mostly holster wear. Still have, and enjoy, that piece.

So, Ronald - Does Summit have a pretty good price on these guns? What make/model do they carry?

They have a Glock 23 for $385. They look to carry everything.

My First Glock was a second gen Glock 22 made in 1991, I bought it from Jensen as an LE trade in 2008, worked liked new, I dont think it had been cleaned since 1992 though. I wouldnt be afraid of it.
