So, I heard about this book on another thread here the other day. Thought I'd pick up a copy. Sure glad I did. One of the best books I've read in a long time. Couldn't put it down.

I thought it was a very realistic scenario. It is what I'd call plausible science fiction.

Pick up a copy, its a good read.

It's a great read, but the story starts out bad and doesn't get much better. A real eye opener if you relate it to "future historical" events.

Actually, I can deal with 100 lbs of rice if she will calm down about bulk ammo purchases. She seems to think that $400-$500 bucks is a lot to spend on ammo....[Tooth]

Thought it was simplistic and predictable. Short and easy reading, I just wasn't really impressed honestly.

I would like to know where is the place where I can buy $500 worth of ammo?

Where?
Any gun store... on online perhaps...
Of course you'll have to buy calibers that you don't need at prices you don't want to pay!

Audio books can be cool for doing stuff around the house or while driving, but they take a long time.

Yeah, too long for me and my ADD. I need something with a beat so unless Snoop Dogg is reading it to a phat Dr Dre beat I doubt it will keep my attention. [ROFL1]

I hear that World War Z on audio book is cool because they got different people to read the different parts, including Henry Rollins. Here is the cast, pretty extensive, especially considering most audio books are read by a single person.

Now that I have so much time on my hands I remembered this thread and stopped at the library to see if they had it. Came in over the weekend and I was impressed with the whole EMP scenario. Food for thought. An updated version of all the nuclear related past books I've read.

Does anyone remember this mini series Amerika, from the mid 80's, with an all star cast; the backstory started with an emp detonation from our "friends" the russians, and the takeover of the us, had elements of un blue helmets types and black helicopters that they used, not to mention the Hillary type vice president who sold us out; rumor was that the directors never worked in hollywood again.

There are unoffcial dvds sold on ebay occassionaly, most likely copied form the vhs format.
