This is my first firearm forum account. I'm excited to be able to partake in discussion about my interest in firearms that I've had for the last 2 years.
I ran across this site using Google searching for HK93 info. Just happens I live in the Denver metro area!
I have lived here for about 6 years. I moved from a fairly liberal state that doesn't look as kindly on guns.
I will definitely want to talk about local shooting events and shooting locations in the beautiful outdoors we have here. I have been to Left Hand Canyon and an area near Blackhawk casino. It's awsome one can go shooting outside without anyone looking over your shoulder! Though, it opens the door to people doing things like shooting glass and leaving it, destroying TVs poluting streams, etc.
I own 2 guns right now, but will get a 3rd this month. I have an HK USP 40 and a Smith & Wesson M&P15 AR-15.
The HK USP was my first and boy was I excited when I got it. I felt like a child again, of course retaining that adult sense of responsibility. I chose HK because I remember the USP in the Tom Clancy computer games I played many years ago. I chose .40 S&W because it "seemed" more substantial than 9mm and .40 ammo wasn't priced much higher.
Shortly after the handgun, I knew I needed a rifle. What better than America's rifle! The ammo is relatively cheap and talk about customizable. It’s the perfect platform for me to get introduced into weapon modification. I like the facts that the 5.56 is powerful, and the AR-15 has positive but low recoil. In comparison, my buddies 5.7x28mm AR has so little recoil it doesn’t seem like I am getting the whole experience.
For my next rifle I am very interested in HKs. I really like what I have read about HK93s and I can share ammo with the AR. An actual HK is priced to high for me at this point ($3000+). Century C93 is definitely affordable and I am seduced by its price. Since dependability is key for a gun, maybe a Vector V93 is the compromise.
I would like an AK-47. If I go that route I am going to build one. That is definitely in my future, but might be put on hold for those sweat looking 93s!
