Does anyone here have saltwater aquariums? I just started a 55 gallon....in fact just finished the cycle. I only have base rock in it at the moment, but am getting some live rock next week. Anyone here have any they want to sell? Am in the process of building a sump out of a 30 gallon I have lying around. Am in need of a overflow if anyone has one to sell as well.

Basically, just wanted to see if anyone else here has gotten the saltwater bug like I did.

I will eventually have corals, some inverts, and not sure on the fish yet....hehe havent gotten that far.

We recently went to Fish Den at 44th and Sheridan. I don't know anything about fish, but they seemed to know what they were doing and had a bunch of salt water stuff.

It's alot of work. When we lived in FL we had a monster 110 gal one. Beautiful species of critters you can put in, however the constant monitoring can get a little intense. We often traveled and still do so getting some one to take care of it was a hassle as in $$$$$ a PRO. Good luck and enjoy.

so far ive had the tank up and running for about a month....not gonna get any fish yet, because I am going to put them in a smaller quarantine tank, and since I am going on vacation for a month, I dont want to mess with that just yet...bought some snails and hermit crabs for it today...they are moving all over the place eating algae.

We just got some snails for our fresh water tank and I've been really surprised at how much, how often, and how quickly they move around.

I have two saltwater tanks and more extra stuff than I would like to admit. I have built a number of sumps for my self and enty of others. You are welcome to come over and check out my tanks any time you like. I am actually thinking a tearing one of them down so if you wanted some corals I could probably hook you. If nothing else I can crag you some stuff.

I have an SPS tank and an LPS tank both fully stocked and over grown. Drop me a PM if you would like to come check them out or need any help with any thing.

There is a local forum section on RC that you can go to and there is always a to of stuff for sale on there.

don't have any fish, used to have a lot of freshwater but I am gone soo much it isn't worth it.
I think a goldfish or a beta is as much of a fish as I will get from now on.

No saltwater. The wife wants one but she wants me to do all the work. I do have a 72 gallon bowfront and 35 gallon tall hex, both freshwater. They still require some work, but nothing like a saltwater.

I've had aquariums my whole life. In fact, I owned my own aquarium store for about 5 years. I sold it in 2000. It was just off Santa Fe, Denver Aquatics.

Saltwater tanks are beautiful, expensive and frustrating at times.

Thanks Spleify, i have found much information from that site....very helpful people on there...I definitely would be interested in some corals if your getting rid of em...but I wont be able to do much until after I come back from vacation...im taking 4 weeks off for vacation this year, and didn't want to put anything in the tank other then the snails and crabs till I got back and had time to devote to the tank. So if you still have stuff left at the end of june id be happy to work out a deal with ya.

No problem. Let me know when you are ready for some corals. I would add some good cured live rock to the tank as soon as you can. Any rock you add to the tank now will make the tank cycle again. I would add it before adding any more live stock. Its a good rule of thumb to add 1-2 lbs/gal of water.

Here is a link to my build thread on RC if you want to check out one of my tanks.
