Do any of you guys pack heat while fishing? I do, I'm always affraid of someone running off with my truck.

Here's a pic of a monster rainbow I caught at deckers yesterday. 22.5", 5.5lbs. Full of eggs.. My biggest rainbow to date.

Cool damn nice fish,,, and yes I usually carry no matter what, helps to have your CCW permit.

Is it any different than hunting? I dont have a ccw, but cant imagine why I'd need one in the National Forest, etc. I've got a hunters ed card. Is walking a private means of conveyance?

Open shouldn't be a problem.

If you notice in the pic there isn't anything visible.[Dunno] . Could that be a problem?

Just don't chase your pole into the lake after you lose it to a fish! Or, if you do, post the video on youtube to prove that Glock's shoot underwater.

yeah, thought about that too. I'm big and clumbsy. So I go in "the drink" quite often. I've a Kel-Tec P11 that stays in a plastic bag. Any other idea's out there for this problem?

Not a fisherman (yet) but I pretty much carry all the time and wherever. My girlfriend hates it when I come into the room for sex wearing only a belt and holster.

KevDen2005

Glock21, I would never forget the boots, however not sure how the thong on backwards works....something you learned in the military, no doubt?

Moutain man, come on, I don't care how big it is as long as I get what I need!!!

Ha ha

I like fishing for brookies, the best places I've found also happen to be prime bear or moose habitat. I open carry on surplus gun belt. I found a gun belt with a butt pack is perfect for fishing. Mag pouches hold extra tackle, canteen fits on and if I put a couple ice-packs in the butt pack I can put the fish on ice right when I catch them.

Really not a problem. Most pistols can shoot just fine underwater - even the 1911. Little bit more of a PITA than with a Glock, particularly with cleanup, but totally do-able.

ALWAYS! Actually, whenever I go into the mtn.s, I open carry a Blackhawk .357 Magnum loaded with HydraShock Hollowpoints - just in case of "predators".

One time while fishing it came in handy when I had it and it kept a potentially bad situation from developing. Making a long story short - which is odd for me... It was my (then) 10yo son and me vs 6 skinhead looking fellas - one was just released from Joliet State Penetentiary in upstate IL the day before (overheard their conversations).

Not too cool. Friend has a place on acreage, with a swimming pool. Put together some rigs to test-fire to make sure, then went for it. 1911s, Glock 17s and 19s, a CZ75, some other stuff. No .40s - word has it those get pressure signs.

Hmm. Perhaps cut back on "the drink".[ROFL1]

Take that any way you wanna!

Sounds like a great setup.

Care to PM me with the location of this "prime bear or moose habitat"?

I open carry in national forest all the time. I conceal carry pretty much everywhere else that I can. I figure I have a much higher chance of encountering an animal...be it wild or someones crazy dog than i do a human. either way i want to be as best prepared as I can

My situation occured about 1/4 mile South of where the Hayman Fire started around Platte Springs off of Tarryall Rd/CO Rd 77 - just 1 week before the fire began.
