Just sitting here watching the forum and tv and enjoying my coffee and almost spit all over myself. On meet the press David Gregory just made the argument that the free market has only put us into this crisis and that big government is the solution

"Market freedom? What has that gotten us?"

Good lord, the end is near if this is the way people are thinking...

The problem I have anymore isn't that talking heads like that say things that stupid, but that I sit there and shrug my shoulders, because I expect them to say things exactly like that.

We're what, 100 years behind Europe at this point? They started all this back in the 1930s?

Too bad we really don't have a free market because of gov't meddling and regulation. I think Mr Gregory simply has it bass-ackwards.

Agreed, and too many American-born idiots "think" [<-- loose term] this way in this day and age. Stating the obvious here, Gregory is 1) wrong and 2) on the enemy list.

Ahhhh...yes...the big, magic "government box" will take care of me/us.

Impossible. The .gov won't let that happen! It is now their charter to prove to us that we NEED the .gov to lead, direct, control, and (essentially) LIVE our lives.

I try to teach people that - but the sweet song lures them away.

Many people are very lazy and if they have to give up some freedom so they don't have to work so hard they will. They just don't understand how much freedom they'll have to give up. And when they do understand it will be too late for them.
