sounds like he was a bit over the edge.

I am annoyed how they kept calling them "clips" and question whether or not he truly had machine guns or not.

either way, when you play stupid games, you win stupid prizes. guess he won't be driving around with lights on any more.

the neighbors comments amused me...what an idiot.

humm interesting article! i too get annoyed by the term clips its magazines! they kind of made it a bid deal that he had a bunch of ammo and 12 high capacity magazine! oh and 50 cal ammo ok so what!???

in away i see where there is some wrong if he is making his own NFA weapons and explosives, but i feel like there is alot of junk just added in for no reason!

Machine guns in his possession: a full auto MP5, plus an AR-15 and "components to make it fully automatic"(I assume an auto sear and M16 bolt group), according to the article. Both stolen from inventory.

Short of the machine guns and home-made explosives, I'm pretty sure the rest discribes 75% of the possessions of the posters on this forum. I hate the media... They can twist all kinds of stuff to misrepresent...

It sounds more sensational if they say "anti personnel bludgeoning device" instead of "tee ball bat".... [LOL]

I was in there today when a local news crew rolled up to get a interview.
The older guy(I'm guessing the owner) told them "No comment", and booted them out.

You can never expect a happy ending when you mix strip clubs, machine guns, and emergency lights.

Absolutely. I don't know how many of you recall the story back in Oct 2007 of the teenager who had a 9mm "assault rifle" [that his mom bought for him], "plus swords, knives, hand grenades, a bomb-making book, videos of the 1999 Columbine attack in Colorado and violence-filled notebooks. The weapons were plainly visible in the boy's bedroom, Castor said."

So, I am curious about the 9mm "assault rifle" and the hand grenades. the rest is fluff.

The more interesting thing is what else is barely mentioned as a sidenote. That's the comment "Police also found about 30 air-powered guns".

Now, ignoring the last comment (as most news viewers would do) look at the pic below and tell me what reaction you'd have as a someone not as involved in the firearms hobby - especially with an aritcle titled "'Bullied' Home Schooler Arrested After Cops Find Weapons Cache in Pennsylvania".

http://www.foxnews.com/images/313350/3_61_101107_arsenal01.jpg

Heres the story. Of the firearms shown on the table above, only 1 (that's O-N-E; one!) is a real firearm; the rest are all airsoft guns. The table also holds a cheap $30 set samuri swords and other cheap prop swords. Ohhh, spooky! Someone might get a paper cut from those!

I remember seeing this "cache" on TV and thinking that this kid was blessed to have been able to get all of those guns. It wasn't until later, when I read the story online that I caught the reference to the airsoft guns. It actually took some work to find out that there was only one real firearm on the table.

Presenting the "news" isn't about representing the truth any more, it's about sensationalism.

Now, back to discussing the OP: This guy is a total moron!

The guy is a moron, no doubt...running around with red lights and siren on his car, stealing a machine gun from his employer... He should be locked up in a psycho ward.

However, not in any way dismissing the gravity of the situation, I always marvel at the news media.

"He had 14 guns in his home with 30 boxes of ammunition, etc, etc." I may have the numbers wrong here, but you get my drift.

Holy shitzkies boys and girls, based on that criteria, I would be public enemy #1! OK, maybe I'm exaggerating, let's say 1 1/2.

Gunzner's Facebook page photo shows him holding a .50-caliber machine gun with protective ear muffs at an outdoor event.

So he was holding a M2 ? only .50 cal auto I know of.
Either way he will reap what he has sown.

What I really love is when a home is invaded and you hear all over the news "Police found a cache of weapons and ammunition". Later, if you're lucky, you'll find out that the guy had a few very legal guns and a couple hundred rounds of ammunition. If you're even luckier, you'll find that NOTHING illegal was found in the search/confiscation and authorities weren't actually able to change the individual with anything. But, thanks to the smear campaign in the news, the individual is now branded to their employer, their neighbors, friends, family, and society as a whole.

Almost all of the news stories I hear about where searches found guns, etc., the firearms are all legal, but WE are led to believe these people are apprentices to the Uni-bomber or Timothy McVeigh.

I'm fairly sick of it!

Hell, I'VE got a hand grenade! Bought it at the surplus store for $7.95. 'Course it's totally inert, with no firing mechanism and a big hole in the bottom of the pineapple, BUT IT'S A HAND GRENADE!!!!
