View Full Version : Anyone into Blackpowder?
Is anyone here into the Blackpowder stuff? Looks to be pretty neat, and have been thinking of jumping into the "dark side" and try it out. Thoughts?
I have a modern 54 cal Thompson Center. It's fun too shoot for a short while.

Sally, my sister-in-law is really into it, you should go shoot with her and get some pointers.

I suppose, she always finds something for me to do.
YEEEEEEHAWWWWWWWWWWWW.. SSDG biatch.....
I met her today and she was really nice!
as to blackpowder, I have been into that since I was a kid. I remember putting a couple shirts between the buttstock of a hawken .50 cal and my shoulder. I hit my tree stump I was aiming at! 1 shot was enough for me!
I have take 2 elk (both 5x5s) with black powder.
I did however make the change from a Hawken and moved to a remington gensis inline using 209 shotgun shell primers instead of the caps.
I watched my buddy miss a bull due to a misfire, got a cap back on then he had a delayed fire and ultimately cost him the bull (he jerked a little!)
some day when I have a lot of animals under my belt I might get me a flintlock and try it really old school!
I still have plans to take my K98 mauser out and possibly my M44 to take a deer or elk before the flintlock though.
As I kid I also found at that large amount of black powder in the bucket of a toy front end loader makes a large enough mushroom clouds for the parents to see it on the upper level[Coffee]
