May be a tougher decision for some.

Jane Norton
http://www.janenortonforcolorado.com/

or

Ken Buck
http://www.buckforcolorado.com/

Norton missed her caucus mark by 1%. She's petitioning for primary, which won't be a problem. My wife is working for her campaign, we like her.

Guess what I'm gonna say? That's right, Ken Buck! I know Buck, someone I know very well (I'm being vauge for the purpose of being vauge) did a big college project with him about immigration. He's solid! He stands for everything good and I hevn't heard him say a thing that I don't aggree with. Ken Buck is the antithis of California.

Jane Norton? I've listened to a lot of her speeches and read her material. I couldn't find her taking a stand on anything. She says a lot of "positive" statements that almost remind me of the "O" man. I just really can't picture her supporting guns with any backbone. That's what I'm sayin, hope you all aggree!

Wait really? I didn't see this sentence when I made my last post. I can't imagine her being more conservative than Buck. Or is being conservative not the issue here?

Since your fam is working to get her elected, you probably know a lot about both canidates. Could you list the differences for each? Maybe like issues and then who's more conservative for each.

Oh and, I don't like the word "conservative", but I use it because there just isn't a better word that says what I mean.

Here is a quote from the Jane Norton web sight I listed. Follow the Issues button at top of page. Find 2nd Amendment and click read more.

[I]I am a firm believer in the Second Amendment and absolutely support the right of law-abiding citizens to keep and bear arms. Gun sales are among the most heavily regulated transactions in America. In our country today, this constitutional right is often regulated into meaninglessness. However, we may be on the cusp of a turning point – last year, the Supreme Court struck down Washington, D.C.’s handgun ban as unconstitutional in District of Columbia v. Heller, and this year the Court will decide whether the Second Amendment is applied to the states in McDonald v. Chicago. I believe that a victory in this case would be a clear message to those who would abridge our constitutional Second Amendment rights. The benefit of the doubt should always go to honest citizens to decide how best to protect themselves, their family and their property./I]

As for Ken Buck, he sounds like a good candidate as well. But I can't find anything on his web sight that talks specifically about the 2nd amendment.
I would assume he runs the conservative line. I'm curious about his record as a D.A. Although I don't want to assume anything. If you have info please share.

Both candidates are quite conservative. Follow the links and read the issues. Buck seems to be a humble beginnings who became a D.A. Norton has a resume a mile long and became Lt. Gov. Either one will get my vote in the end.

I can't get past Jane's work to push C and D thru. I disagreed with the spending then and still do.

I don't trust anyone who think they can spend my money better than I can, from the left or the right.

I also feel like the Republican Party just tried to designate her as next in line, I don't like the taste of that one bit.

Link to another Buck thread in Legislation and Politics where I pose a question that may not get seen in that thread...

Hoping to find someone that knows a bit of FIRST hand info on the issue of Buck's reprimand during his tenure at the U.S. attorney's office 10 years ago.

(sorry to be generating a possible dupe... but hey, inquiring minds want to know.)

Walk into each of their offices in Open-carry mode and see who makes the most noise.
Then vote for the other one.

*Yawn*

Jane has the same Republican crap in her "War on Terror" brief that one would expect to see from any Republican puppet. Ken has about 30 words to sum up his position, which is the same as Jane but leaves more wiggle (read: Lie) room for later. The same old crap intent on continuing the status quo. Where's the new ideas? Neither major party offers this country anything new or exciting. Its still the Democrats coming up with some hairball new proposal, and the Republicans opposing it because that's all they know how to do (and because a majority of the Dem ideas suck monkey balls).

I'd vote for Gomer Pyle if he had a political stance worth supporting; opening Cuba comes to mind, and I'm sure there are others that are both reasonable and politically viable.

We don't need Jane or Ken. We need John Doe American*

*some post-high school education or tradeskill + at least 1 year living outside North America required.

edit: Byte Stryke has a pretty darn good idea there. See who puts their money where their mouth is.

I wish I could feel great about either. I think the Govt needs another lawyer in office like we need an extra hole in the head. With that in mind, leaning towards Norton. But that may change when we find out that she has been smuggling tampons using taxpayer dollars. :)

Norton looks like the favorite but not for me. If "pulling the lever today" I'd go with Buck.

I concur. Ken Buck . Norton is pretty much silent(or has been in the past) on illegal immigration and immigration law enforcement.

Ken Buck all the way.

Norton is a RINO, talks the talk but won't walk the walk.

I've recently talked with MS/MA ECON CU Denver student regarding politics.
He is where I've heard about Ken Buck.

Did my own research, and I want to put some yard sign.

Right now, I am more worried about CO GOVT race.

+1 on Buck, Boo on Norton.

IMHO, Bennet is toast and Romanoff could be the guy we have to beat.

Buck and Norton are almost identical candidates. I'm supporting Buck because I don't want another whiney chick in office. That's how she comes across to me, always looking down her nose, sense of entitlement, cry's foul but plays dirty at the same time. She reminds me of Hillary and I just can't stand behind that.

I like Buck's background, he seems very well rounded and has enough experience at different levels within government to be able to get the job done. I also see him as unwavering once he's in the Senate.

I dont see much diffrence in them and I am disgusted that the republicans could not come up with someone better then these 2.
Jane is -1 in my book for that ad shes running, tell the facts, im cool, imply a bunch of crap and dont just stick to the facts, im out.
Buck will have my support at this time.

I agree...Ken Buck all the way. Norton's ads regarding Buck's time as DA are quite misleading...even according to the Denver Post.

Business as usual with Norton and I agree she's a tough-talking RINO but won't push a conservative agenda at all...too much like a McCain for my liking.

I'm hopeful Buck will be a (small) breath of fresh air in DC.

Norton is a career politician and Buck is a career lawyer. That makes both professional liars and I won't vote for either.
