View Full Version : draw results
How did everyone do so far?
I know not much is out yet.
I have missed out on goat and sheep....probably take the rest of my life to draw one of those.
awaiting the rest, the excitement is too much!

no desert sheep for me, no mountain goat either. just now have 3 points for goat so next year i will actually have a very small chance. i have my fingers crossed for moose, just a cow as i got a bull in 2004. but will be fun to punch a broadhead through one of those big bitches.

Deer results are supposed to be released June 3rd.
Deer, antelope and elk are notoriously historically delayed though.
Draw results can be looked up here:

i.e. There are 1K deer and 13K hunters, but to keep the balance in the ecosystem you can only take 200 of them?...

wow what are you saving up for with those?
I usually draw about every other year or every 3rd year.
I am saving now to go up near craig
I think the Northern area's are the ones that take 12 points or more. It only took me three points to draw a pronghorn tag in the Limon area, but my father 12 points to hunt Northern CO (not sure on the unit).
Also, no more deer tags for first rifle in area 43 where we hunt. Seems to be getting harder each year to draw. Before we know it, they'll quit refunding the money and start donating it to gun control.
I am hoping like hell I draw my mulie tag for gunnison area this year! Got my finger, toes and anything else I can possibly cross

Unit 3, up by Baggs WY, on the Colorado side of course. I've seen more monster size antelope up there than anywhere else.

i dont know how to quote someone's post. but in reference to the statement that there arent any deer tags for first season in unit 43, there are NO deer tags ANYWHERE IN THE STATE in first season. been that way for probably 10 years or more, since they added a season. 43 is hard to get a tag for 4th season, really hard for high country buck, but i usually buy a left over license for archery in 43, and sometimes there are left over licenses for 2nd season(first deer season).

They are saying around the 13th.
Odds on getting RFW Craig, Elk either sex 1st season for 3 of us....We shall see...

Bear is out, I didn't draw and now have 4 pref. points.
I think I will just save those up for a really good area down south to make sure I have pretty good odds of getting one.
anybody know some good areas? I haven't hunted bear before[Swim]
Sniper, I took a bear in unit 85 a while back, west of Walsenburg, good country. Moose is posted as well.
Bear is out... Am not, I'm right here.

[ROFL1] nice!
just saw moose was posted and guess what!!!! I DIDN'T DRAW[Bang][Bang][Bang][Bang]
NO moose for me again.... gonna head to MT I guess.
Still no news for me... What are the odds are? Area 20 Late season Deer.. I want a big fat corn feed front range mulie.
Due to the proximity to Boulder they probably only allow 4 tags for the area.
If y'all have any excess jerky (turkey, deer, bear, etc) lemme know!!
I'm hoping to draw my mulie buck tag this year. I didn't draw a tag at all last year. Only the second time in my life. I hunt on the northeastern plains so I generally draw a buck every couple of years. Fingers crossed.

I finally got around to check my draw. Drew Bull for area 36.
Hope its not to crowded this year. Field and Stream did an article on the Best Public Places to hunt in North America. White Rive National Forest was listed as one of the best for Elk.
Got a cow tag for 55, but did n't draw my fawking deer tag, I hope they have left over deer tags for muzzy season in 55, because, It will give me a reason to buy one.
drew private property deer tag! looks like a nice big whitetail may be in my future in the cards line up right[Beer]

In possibly over hunted areas the DOW has limited the amount of licenses sold so that there are not 1000 people per square mile hunting all at once. The DOW has also limited hunting pressure in areas that can't support or don't support large hunt-able populations of a specific species.
All deer licenses are draw only (ie lottery). You can NOT got to the sporting goods store and buy an over the counter license. This is also the same for Big Horn Sheep, Mountain Goat, Bear and Moose.
There are usually left over licenses available after the draw but need to be purchased at the DOW offices. Left over licenses are usually available for Deer, Elk and Bear. Unfortunately they will probably not be for the area you wish to hunt... at least that has been my experience.
Does this clear things up or make it mud?
