I recently picked up a night vision monocular from Big 5. It is a famous trails monocular with IR capabilities. It's no PVS 14's but still pretty good considering the price. It was 179 on sale until sunday, regularly $400. Thought I would share that since I thought it was a pretty good deal.

I have already used it at work and think they work pretty good.

I need to pick one of those up. Something is better than nothing but I do have something.;)

Not at all. As NV scopes go it is a lightweight. I do have to put it on the scale but a WAG says 2lbs.

Wow...I'd have to rest my chin on the stock just to see through that. Looks cool, though.

Not as bad as it looks. It is made from very thin cast aluminum and machined. It does take a little getting used to but it is pretty nice. Pic of what ya see.

You need to take that thing to Texas and go bust up some hogs. First thing that came to mind when I saw your first picture is that would be one sweet hog gun.[AR15]

That one was there too, but this Famous Trails one was $179, through tomorrow. I am sure they will have other sales and I didn't even think about searching for one on Ebay, but I thought the deal was pretty good and I am pretty satisfied with it thus far.

I am looking into this one for a few hundred more. Has anyone had any experience with this unit?

Just to throw this out there, the model I bought is now $159 at Big five. Still works fine and I use it almost every night I work, I am pretty rough on it and it still going strong after nearly a month

Is that a kill shot on a tractor?
