View Full Version : Census
A census taker left a note on my door that he stopped by, but I wasn't home. (really?) He said he would be back in the next few days or I could call him.
Anyone know or have any recommendations on a nice Chianti? I'll forego the fava beans.

No kidding, or he will wait until he has decided he was scared, at the end of his work day of course, and call the police on you.
And if they start asking if we have guns we should say no, we don't believe in them and then try to convert them to another religion....it's a fun game and they will want to leave as soon as possible

You left the part out about the cencus worker wondering about your property uninvited.
they left one at my place while i was gone, today they met the dog that I have signs up for...
I don't know if they'll be back.

I filled out the paperwork for the Census when it arrived yet I still received a knock at the door from a worker asking me if I had any College students in the house. I have a NO SOLICITING sign clearly posted under my doorbell, yet she still rang.

Stand behind the door and cycle a pump shotgun-the sound will send them on the way !! [Coffee]
I really can't fault most of the workers. Many of these people are out of work and are looking to get a few dollars. I had one knock on my door last night . I wouldn't let my wife answer the door alone. It was a gal asking about a neighbor down the street. He doesn't get home until 9:00 most week nights.
My next door neighbor is going to Census worker training today. For $13.00 an hour I don't think it is worth it to go into some areas when you know you aren't welcome.

i have a locked gate, with a quarter mile of driveway at the bottom. and a sign that says no trespassing, private property, keep out. when the census brought the forms, they rubberbanded it to my gate. it had the wrong address on it so i left it hang there. it is now gone with all the winds we have had. i have been wondering what they will do now. will they leave me more notices untill they get tired of not getting ahold of me? will they do something stupid like climb the fence and trespass? i dont know how stupid or dedicated they are. what do you guys think? will they bother with me or just leave notes at the gate?

Did you not fill out any Census form that arrived by mail?

i never got one in the mail. there was one attached to my gate via rubberband. with the address of a town 20 miles away. so i didnt want to mess with it. i left it.
its gone now. so i am assuming some illegals stole it and filled it out for me.
my neighbor is with the SO and he didnt want to mess with it either, since his wasnt addresed to him either. wrong address. by a long shot
