Hi from La Junta. I found this site accidentally while doing a search. A little about myself, I started hunting/shooting at a tender young single digit age, which would be around 50 years ago. I was a member of the local Sheriff's Dept. Reserve for nearly 20 years, several of them the Posse Training Officer. I am a life member of: SASS, USPSA (Range Officer), the local club (La Junta Rifle Club) and a Benefactor member of the NRA. I have owned several ARs over the years but now I am down to two. A Colt Match rifle that has taken on a new look over the years (SPR) and a Dissipator that is helping the funding on my part of a two rifle build for a friend and myself. We are building middys with mine being an Adams Arms piston gun with all the AA upper extras and some Magpull FDE items on the side. I better shut this down before I tell my life story. Glad you are here.

Well, I am suprised I spilled my guts like that, I am a very private person. I guess it would be more accurate to say I know a little about a lot of stuff... not a great deal about anything. If you just think about it most of us have a great wealth of info in us. Some don't show it and others don't quit. [ROFL1]

You sound like a guy I went shooting with a couple of years ago while at a family reunion at John Martin Reservoir (week after labor day - '07 IIRC)- my soon to be family member took us (myself, my wife and my brother-in-law and his wife and kids) into Lamar to a shooting range down there with a friend of his. At least I think it was a friend - coulda been a family member... (his name is Cliff).

Thats not as funny to me now as it was thirty years ago. I have been forgetting more and more the last few years. You know the old saying, Memory is the first thing to go... and I forgot the second. [ROFL2]

I'm over in Trinidad. There used to be some small but good gun shows over near you, at Rocky Ford. Don't believe they have them anymore though.

Yes we had some good shows in the past at Rocky Ford and the OJC gym but those days are long gone. Now I just try to find what I want online. Not as much fun but, oh well...
