I need a bit of help.

I've got an online web-based store and due to selling that evil baby killing stuff we know as ammunition, I can't continue to use the previous owner's merchant services.

So, I got credit card processing through Payment Alliance International - the NRA's "preferred" processor. But I'm having zero luck finding a zen cart module to pass the data to PAI.

So I guess I need some sort of module written.

Web development has gone a long ways since I last wrote static pages in HTML.

I am. You need someone familiar with PHP and MySQL. Zen Cart is a fork from the old osCommerce app.

Honestly, getting someone competent to write this is going to be a lot more expensive than finding a payment processor that's already supported and friendly with ammunition.

If you're set on having one written, I'd suggest going to Zen Cart forums and finding a coder who has already done payment processor integration. Having someone whose work you can see means they already know how the system works and should be able to do it in half the time it takes someone new to become familiar with the system, and write the plugin.

I'm booked solid at the moment, I could work 60+ hours a week and still not keep everyone happy. So I really don't want to take something on that won't have my full attention. If you can't find any other coders, I know a group of 4 who do payment processing systems. They are expensive, but quick and polished products. Let me know if you want that email address.

Hope this helps!

H.

I'm getting mixed signals. I've found a couple people on the net looking for how to build the payment module, but the salesgal at PAI told me they have a module.

However, she also told me I'd have my spec sheet on Friday.

not only do they have a module to do this, they have an authorize.net gateway emulation mode. Just need to change a couple urls in the program and then let zen-cart pretend it's using it's own built-in software.

@arz did you get your business back up and running with your new credit processor? What's the URL, in case we want to shop for some ammo!

I'm going to be marking some prices down a bit, so if you're interested, let me know.

And if you want to pick up local (Elizabeth) you can save shipping and tax is only 3.9%

Shouldn't have much of an issue when using authorize.net as your gateway. Just plug in your merchant and transaction ID's and your g2g for the most part. I made my own custom API for authorize.net interactions but there should be hundreds of pre-build ones out there (sounds like you may have found one plugin). Just none that suited my fancy. If you need any help you can always send me a pm or whatever, but like Hoosier, I have a full schedule, so nothing is going to really get full attention lately...

I have no familiarity with Zen-cart, never had a reason to. I don't use downloaded 3rd party code in any major site, but I'm an oddball in the bunch.
authorize.net is apparently a no-go for ammo, firearms or even firearms accessories.

I talked with 6 or 7 of the CC merchant services providers that go through authorize.net. A couple told me that it was Authorize.net who wouldn't allow them to set up the account. MerchantWarehouse is the one the business was originally set up with told me it was Authorize.net and , BigSky told me it was their underwriter - that was sounds the most believable.

Not sure if anyone knows the real reason.

Regardless, I went with Payment Alliance Intl - they're the NRA "approved" place. and I actually got somewhere with their cust. service today. Now I need to call godaddy again.

anyway, if I can't get it to work, who do you go through using authorize.net as the gateway?

Well, apparently my messing around with it earlier today worked.

I was sitting down cruising facebook and a sale popped through. Made my first sale! Woohoo!
