This is my rifle. There are many like it, but this one is mine....

I present to you my rifle. Finally back from a DBM install and thought I'd show it off. I'm not big on specs as long as it goes boom when I pull the trigger, but I'll post what I can. If you have any questions, just ask. Your thoughts? [Beer]

Howa 1500
.308 with 1:12
20 inch Heavy Barrel
MKII stock
CDI DBM
Eagle Industries ammo/storage cheek pad
Tactical Intervention sling cuff
Tactical Operations Large bolt knob
Kampfeld Customs did the bolt fluting
Leupold M2 4-9x40 scope <--- I know, it's all I have.
Harris 6-9 inch bipod

Why yes it is... I couldn't find a model in black to match the rifle, but he works out very well. I love my Buddy.

Rgr, when I get some more money saved and shoot out the barrel I'll also replace it with a "swirly" barrel. I like the look.

I tried to get Buddy to lay down in front of it, but he doesn't really like the boom stick. You can see his back leg is cocked, ready to go into a different room as soon as I release him.

Someone talk to me about Krieger barrels.. the different contours and stuff are pretty confusing. Looking for something along the lines of:
20-24 inch, black finish, straight flutes, end threaded to accept can, straight profile (bull barrel, match grade, etc?).

How much did the bolt fluting cost Bear? It looks great, and I may want to get that done.

I think the bolt fluting was... around $80 if I remember right. It was done by Karl Kampfeld (google for his info). Very nice guy, very quick turnaround, etc.

I should be out at DM's this Saturday around noonish if you want to check it out. Probably at the 200 yard range throwing some clays and some stuff with a friend or two.

Did they add the bigger bolt handle and re-blue it as well?

Oh man, you're asking me stuff I don't really know.... It was a birthday present.

The bolt knob is a Tac Ops and yes, I do think Karl did that as well. The re-blueing is actually paint. It was a polished silver bolt and I told him to krylon it to make it a complete black rifle.

Very nice, Bear! I like it. I thought hard about getting a Howa (a gunsmith buddy of mine thinks highly of them) but I ran across a 1st year production Remington 700 PSS with the adjustable H-S Precision stock, and that was that. Like the bolt fluting, too!
