SOMALIA: Russia executed all Somali pirates – spokesman
BOSASSO (Somalilandpress) — A pirate spokesman, who wished to remain anonymous, contacted Somalilandpress today said at least ten of his men were executed by the Russian navy after the troopers stormed MV Moscow University.
“The Russians commandos stormed the ship before sunrise, starting a firefight with our men, onboard they injured three of them and one was killed,” he said.
He dismissed the Russian navy statement that the men were released because of “the absence of a legal base to carry out prosecution procedures against pirates”.
“The Russians never released the young men instead they shot them point-blank range then loaded their lifeless bodies back on the boat,” he added.

Go figure. I trained for a good part of my early, adult life to kill all those commie bastards.
Now, I buy their ammo and guns. And to top it off, they come up with something like this. It's gettin' harder and harder not to admire them...at least a little bit.
Of course, in the old days of the USSR, you'd have some Russian general denying they shot the pirates while a video of Soviet troops shooting the pirates played in the background.

I hope its true but I have to agree with BS, why would they leave survivors and who the hell is going to trust a "Pirate Spokesman?"
Hopefully the Russians did clean 'em out and send an important message to them...

They have to have some sort of representatives since they negotiate the ransoms for the ships & crew. It certainly does simplify all the legal problems of pirates captured on the high seas.

As a card carrying ACLU, SPCA, PETA, DNC, member, I am offended by this. Those poor pirates were forced into this violent lifestyle by combination of racism, gangster rap, pokimon, capitolism, not getting the sunday paper, and an overly abusive father. Its not their fault. We should sue the russians for violating their rights, and give refuge to any skinny who wants to come over and enjoy our universal health care. I urge our supreme commander, savior and friend, Obama, to take action immediately. Just like he has done with every other crisis we have faced in recent times.

You forgot that they were poor Africans. It was being so poor, and wanting to make their families lives better that caused them to take such drastic actions. We should blame all Americans for allowing Africans to be so poor. It's our fault all them poor pirates died this way. Americans should be ashamed!
I would have to say that sounds like murder to me if they had no trial and were not killed in battle.
I am sure Russia gave them a trial and they still sentance Pirates to death, so justice served.

They let one go to relay the message to the rest: Don't mess with the Ruskies.
Send a real message by lining them up, offer the first the chance go free by killing his 9 buddies. He passes, make the same offer to the next guy. And so on and so forth.

I think we should take a page from the Brits and Germans, and put together a few "Q" ships and let the pirates have at them. Let 'em go running up on what looks like a helpless old merchant ship, and then when they start shooting drop the sides of the superstructure and open up with 40mm Bofors and maybe a couple of 20mm Vulcans. There ought to be a bunch of Vulcans in the boneyard, they can just take a few and adapt them. See how long it takes for them to lose their appetite for piracy after some of that!

Anything to try to make them look more like an appropriate and official entity.
The "spokeman" makes it sound like the pirates were interupted in the middle of a legal and sanctioned activity.
I say ALL of the pirates need to be killed immediately and their watercraft sunk.

I was under the impression that the pirates at least have small arms like AK47s that they fire at the ship while the other guys board.

These are the same dumba$$e$ that use their boats which are slightly better than rafts to attack warships from nations all across the world. One would think that the armor looking hulls and huge deck guns would be a hint that they shouldn't attempt to hijack those ships, but .......
