I've done quite a bit of searching and can't find exactly what I need. I mean, I could call every single instructor listed but that's gonna take forever and a day. I'm looking for an instructor/class that will be enough for a ccw permit. I'm also not looking to spend 100+ bucks as some places are charging. Down here (AZ) it costs $40 for a good, eight hour CCW class (as required by law to get permit). Long story short, anybody have any good recommendations for the Denver area?

ETA: If this is in the wrong place please move it to the correct forum.

I did Profire's Colorado/Utah class. It was ~$150 for both, about 10 hours. You might check out RMGO.org to see if Dudley is having a class soon, as they usually have a discount if you join at the same time you sign up for the class.

I took a lecture only class for $80 and that is by far the cheapest I've heard of. $40 is amazing. Good luck finding anything comprable here.

Rgr that! When I did my original (TX) it was $40 plus a free 200 rounds to use on the live fire portion of the class.... good times. There was an amazing guy there that wrote his initails (J.S.B.) complete with the "periods" in the head of a sillhuette at 10 yards using like 30 rounds or something in less than 20 seconds.... It was AMAZING.

I look at the prices of classes and stuff around here and as much as I would like to attend some of them, I just can't drop $100+ on that stuff.

I took a 5 hour, $100 course at Dragon Arms in Colorado Springs. Turns out I was not required to take the class (the County website's written policy is not the actual polciy - I could have used my DD214).

Regardless, it was a good refresher.

Looking into this in my area..
how's $85 for 4 hour lecture + 4 hour range class?

http://www.victorydefense.com/Training+Services/Scheduled+Courses/
They are "A division of Foremost Response, Inc"

I have a local recommendation, anyone else hear of them?

$85 for 4 hour lecture and 4 hour range time is unbeatable. I'd get the guy's name, then call the sheriff and ask if he's had any problems with that guy (the sheriff usually knows all the local players) and then sign up asap.

FAST - Firearm Accuracy Safety Training has Basic pistol class that meets Colorado requirements for CCW for $100.00. 10 hr course included couple hours at range.

They have other courses as well.

My wife and I took this course couple years ago. Great people and they have thorough course. Good for newbies and old hands.

The dude behind the counter at Taco Bell makes more than $5 an hour to make you a good value meal.

With that new CCW bill that passed in AZ. You don't need a training class or fill out and submit any forms, just wait until it comes into effect. I don't know how to post a link, so just do a search for the for it for more information.

This is who I took mine from, and was quick and a good course.

I know that, I'm in Colorado and looking for a Colorado class/permit. Plus, if you want reciprocity or to carry in a establishment serving alcohol or to bypass the background check you still need the permit in AZ.

My wife and I went to a class with these guys in Denver for our permits. I think it was $100.00 each. I thought that was a fair price.

I took the Victory Defense class on Saturday- I thought it was a great class, especially the range portion, I used almost 200 rounds of ammo in the class.. so it was pretty comprehensive for a basic pistol class.

Instructor Bill Vinelli was knowledgeable, professional, and helpful. His position is that he won't put his signature on the certificate if he isn't satisfied you can shoot well enough & handle yourself under stress.

They've got a bunch of other classes, and I wouldn't hesitate to take another course from them.. they have locations in Canon City and Grand Junction.

A while back I remember reading about a course that if taken allowed you to bring your wife/girlfriend/daughter to the course for free. Anyone know of this instructor/course? I have tried searching for it recently, but to no avail. Really wish I would have bookmarked it or written it down.
