this sounds to me, like a righteous raid. they were after a murderer. who was probably still armed and obviously dangerous. i can only imagine some big fat crack whore fighting with the cops so her piece of shit boyfriend, or whatever he was can escape. which he didnt thankfully. unfortunately the cop may have had his finger in the trigger guard. this is a terrible thing. but its terrible to put your children in such a position that this can happen.

keep your fingers off the trigger untill ready to fire. or keep thier fingers out if that was the case.

either way it is so sad an innocent died.

ps. i didnt read the cnn version. only the fox version so if my facts are wrong. sue me.

I agree, while the death of ANY child is tragic, The mother/person harboring a known felon/fugitive should be held responsible. That cop probably feels like hell.

This is a tragic sequece of events. I'll wait for the investigation to reveal what really happened before I post any other comments.

Something will turn up. You know a cop, any cop is not going to look for a reason to take a kids life. their parents on the other hand...well that is to be debated.
A lot of great kids come from very very shitty homes, they make the best of their beyond piss poor situation. very unfortunate accident, I know the cop feels horrible.

I'm forever the pessimist so keep that in mind when reading my statements.

I think the cop is going to pay dearly for this mistake. Even if he does get cleared and the conclusion is that he couldn't have avoided the shooting, he will always carry the knowledge of this childs death.

While a certainly agree that the injury or death of any child is tragic, perhaps this child is now better off than she would have been had she grown to adulthood in that environment. I saw her picture in that link and she was a beautiful young lady with a really cute smile (I DO NOT mean this in a sick/perverted sort of way - more like in a parent sort of way).

I say that dear old mom needs to face some justice here.

Very sad...I am very curious about the altercation between the officer and the woman and how the round was fired.

No one wants to live with the burden of taking an innocent child's life
