I hope I'm posting this in the right place. I picked up a CZ-52 on the cheap last weekend. Long story short, I like it. I've been nosing around the internet looking for a company (like JG sales) that sell them and I haven't found much. Anyone know of a supplier? I'm not ready to buy another one, but I think I will in the future. This is a cool gun and cheap to shoot!

They seemed to dry up pretty quick, can't find them often anymore.

Very nice pistols, good luck and keep the one you got![Beer]

Interesting. I wonder if the supply of 7.62x25 ammo will dry up as fast as the CZ-52s.

I wouldn't worry too much about that for now... there are other weapons besides the CZ 52 chambered for that round.

yeah you got a deal.

Anyone know where I can get extra mags? Keepshooting.com has some but they're unknown aftermarket

Curious, do you know the aftermarket mags to be bad? Just wondering - no experience with them myself. Also, has anyone used one of those replacement barrels from Sportsman's Guide? I'm thinking about getting one and using it, so I can keep the original in good shape.

no idea if the aftermarkets are a good copy or not. id rather spend a bit more and get known good ones.

FWIW- Do not dry fire the CZ-52. The firing pins are cast steel and brittle.
A machined firing pin is a very worthwhile upgrade.
Here is some info:

There are also A-Zoom snap caps in this caliber. They are great pistols. I got 2 when they first came in and still have one. It keeps my Tokarev company in the safe. There is some really crappy ammo out there. I wish the copper washed Chinese was still available. That was accurate and not crazy hot. It would be a hard round to load since it tosses the brass a ways.

If You Can Find A 9mm Barrel For Your Pistol, It Would Give You Two Firearms Worth Keeping. Very Fine Pistol. Some Time Read The Ballistic's On It, It Will Surpise You As To The Power It Has

I sold mine for $300 including 2000 rounds, upgraded spring and firing pin. I couldn't find one in that condition for that kind of deal anymore. I am regretting it still.

If you're still looking for a cz 52 check tanner a couple months ago I bought one from a guy at a noco gun show who is also at tanner it's a typical rearsenaled pistol but in unissued condition with cleaning rod and a fresh holster for 225 also I've read about the aftermarket mags the ones from keep shooting are supposed to be good as they make them and test them in house but the other aftermarket mags out there are supposed to be crap

Sweet. Whats the low down on that? I was expecting the ppsh, but that's way more cool.

I built it long ago. It is Fal based, blow back and uses PPS41 mags. Started with PPS43 mags. :)

Everyone always does a double take. The big thing is when I hand it to those that are used to Fal's. Way back when a company called Rhineland made kits for 45 acp and 9MM. A man in Utah made some mag adapters for AR, AK and PPS mags. With the PPS 43 mags you can use 9MM, 7.62X25, 38 super, 9X23 and 45ACP. This was all done when a Fal kit was $90 and there were so many of them that people were trying many things with them.

Mine is unique in that I used nothing but aluminum in most areas. Many of the parts are no longer available. I will say it took years to get it to run right and even now it sometimes has it's moments. At 100 yards it is a 4moa gun and I have shot targets at 200 yards with it. Most surplus ammo runs 1950FPS out of the 16" barrel.

And ammo is still cheap.:)

That's a cool fal, reminds me I need to start working on my x25 blowback ak one of these days ;)

Did you use a chamber plug in a fal barrel? Cut it shorter and rechamber it or just use something different?

There is an insert for the upper then the barrel was cut with a locking ring and index pin. The barrel was machined down from a std Fal.

Very cool thanks for the additional picture. You should get a ppsh-41 drum and another 41 mag and cut down the mag and weld it to the drum for a feed tower ;)

Do they work pretty well? I was thinking of using 41 drums with canibalized 43 mags on my ak as I plan to use a pps43 magwell on that build ;)

Have not tried to put the two together. Once you remove the cage the 41 and 43 mags are the same size. The 41 being a single feed and the 43 a double feed. The Fal was built with 43 mags but were just too far away from the throat to work right.

After spending much time analyzing the problem I switched to 41 mags. I would venture to say that on almost any conversion to X25 that the 41 mags would be the way to go. I know of one guy that had the same issue with an AR conversion using 43 mags and solved his problem using 41 mags. I modded the bolt a little for the 41 mags but it still will use the 43 ones.

My magwell adapter uses an AK mag release, I grind down the large protrusion on the 43 mags then just measure and cut into the spine for the mag catch. Same thing on the 41 mags after I remove the cage.

That's cool using an ak latch and modifying 43 mags was another idea as well though if I go that route I'll move the ak barrel trunnion back to shorten the magwell and push the barrel back to the front of the locking lugs to make sure there's as small a space as reasonably possible from the mag to the chamber for nice feeding though the bolt and carrier will require heavy mods but that's not too hard ;)

Wow!! Did this thread get jacked, or what?

I've heard to stay away from Triple K mags. I bought a couple of mags from here.......

They work great.
Just don't use them to pull the barrel assembly out. The floor plates aren't quite as tough as originals.
