Looking for a new lighter stock for my savage 10FP, I have the Choate Ultimate Sniper Stock and that thing weights a ton. Any recommendation? I really don't want to have to grind a bunch of crap off it, just a drop in. Thanks guys

Need more info-
What are you willing to spend on it? For a DURABLE lightweight look to Mcmillan or HS Precision. But they do run in the $400+ range.

B&C's (Bell and Carlson) are fiberglass and really light. They also make drop-in for standard and bull barrels. Aluminum Pillar Bedded.

I've used a couple.. they only thing you'll need is a longer front stock screw to install.

Just a side note on the screw. You can pick up a 1/4-28 screw at the local hardware store and trim it to fit. Grab a nut while you are at it and thread that on before you cut. Take the nut off after the cut and it will even out the threads if any got messed up during the cut.

The factory stock is pretty light. I have the dura max stock and it's pretty hefty compare to the factory plastic.

Never asked, when i first got it, it was kinda cheap feeling and had plans on getting something else, so i really did not care when it broke. I was looking ate getting something with the Aluminum chassis in it.

dont the new savage stocks have aluminum bedding built right in? I think they call it the accu-stock.

The accustock comes either with a mag well or without. I saw two examples at Jensens today, both accustock. I have one and it is a very rigid stock, I don't see it cracking anytime soon.
