So there's a news item out talking about how stupid and clueless drivers are.
On the evening edition they will also break two new monumental discoveries, water is wet and the sky is blue.
anyway there was a link to a drivers quiz with questions taken from drivers tests across the country.

I got a 95.. and was pretty sure I was going to get #3 wrong.. and I did.. based on where the turn-off for my house is..
as a side note: stereotypes are sometimes justified, LOL:
The average score for men is 83
The average score for women is 78

all that wasted time. i got a zero.
i guess it need cookies to be enabled..........or i cant drive.
What is the driving test in Colorado like? I took my test in Florida. Ten multiple choice questions and ten minutes around the car park. I thought I was taking a cursory test for immigrants who already knew how to drive. How wrong I was...
Colorado drivers are the most patient, courteous people by comparison :D

Hmm. I wonder how Pr1ncess would do on this.
95 / 100
Hannu! Don't see enough of you on the site any more. Awesome job. You missed 2 fewer questions than me and you've only been driving here for what? about a year now?! You've got game!

and Denver drivers are about the worst I've seen in the state..
seems to come with the territory of urban living- too courteous, and you won't get anywhere..
the most courteous drivers I can recall were in Minnesota... borderline too polite...

Well... good. Since you're older than I (I think)... let me ask: How'd your life turn out? Maybe there is something to look forward too....

If thinking alike is the criteria for how your life might turn out, dude, you're screwed! Sorry!

Yes, Florida drivers are the worst. Also, the tons of out of state drivers trying to interact with highway traffic while figuring out if they missed the exit for Disney. Most of the highways are toll roads. Rain there means it's time to drive 30mph with your flashers on. I-4 is a parking lot through Orlando.
On the plus side, no state tax. Still glad I moved.

Most states require a score of 80 or better to get a license.
You scored: 95
Missed number 4.
Got a 90, missed 3 and 10.
Ha! That exactly what I missed.
I'm not up to date on drunk driving laws since I don't, and thought you were supposed to turn at the turn lane to get into businesses (although I don't). Glad to know that, according to MSN, I can turn over dbl yellows.

Some of those I would like to cross reference with the traffic code here. I got a 80.
Missed
1. I know that you don't legally have to obey an officer no matter what.
3. I'm pretty sure you aren't supposed to cross over a double yellow at any time...at least in some states you aren't allowed to.
6. I'm sure if traffic is going 80 in a 60 and you try to explain to the cops that you were "trying to keep up with traffic" they won't care.
18. That's not on the books [Neene1]

It might be just that - I can still remember my Colorado drive test because it was not so long ago :)

Ok, I feel qualified to answer these because I got a 95.. [LOL]

Missed
1. I know that you don't legally have to obey an officer no matter what.
agreed, but you're going to obey a sign or a possibly broken traffic light over an officer directing traffic? The idea is that a human being with a brain & authority should take priority over the automated systems
3. I'm pretty sure you aren't supposed to cross over a double yellow at any time...at least in some states you aren't allowed to.
I fell for that one, too.. but they get a little funny with the stripes in the country.. I couldn't turn off to my exit form the hwy without going 1/2 mile past it, and doing a U-turn.. point is, in some places, there are places where the center line would get confusing, with all the turnoffs the hwy..
6. I'm sure if traffic is going 80 in a 60 and you try to explain to the cops that you were "trying to keep up with traffic" they won't care.
They were ASSuming that you would obey all traffic laws.. gotta put the test in perspective- it's administered by "the man"
18. That's not on the books [Neene1]
not all cars have fog lights.. simple process of elimination.
95,, missed the one where it says hand your beer to the cop....LOL

Got an 85, I think most of us fell for the same ones.
Chalked up a 90... not to bad, considering I haven't see a test like that in over 10 year. Some of those questions did seem a little bogus.

I scored 90. 18 out of 20.
Missed: when you can cross a double yellow? I answered never. But after thinking about it I do cross them to turn into a driveway.
Missed: the how to merge onto a highway. I answered when it was clear.
Slap yourself if you missed #9.
I took it again and got an 82%.
