"SPOKANE–– Spokane Police are investigating a drive thru car-jacking that happened after a fight over loud music.

Police say two men in a gray four door Mitsubishi Lancer pulled up in the McDonalds drive through in the 900 block of Indiana Avenue with loud music playing.

Two men in the car in front of them, a white four door passenger car waiting to order, yelled to the men in the Lancer to turn the music down. Apparently there was then some kind of confrontation between the men in both vehicles.

Police say that's when the suspects in the white vehicle got out of their car and held the men in the Lancer at gun point, telling them to get out of the car. The victims complied.

Police say the suspects took off with the Lancer and the white car they were originally driving heading southbound on Monroe Street.

Spokane Police checked the area for both vehicles but were unable to locate them.

The plate on the gray Lancer is Washington license plate # 318TDF. The suspects can only be described as two large white males with bald heads. If the Lancer is seen please immediately call 911 and report it to your local law enforcement agency. "

My vigilante side says: Good Jacking!!! I hope they beat the crap out of the car and completely destroy the sound system. Why can't people play their radios at a decent volumne that does not distract other drivers/etc.... especially at an order window where people are trying to communicate!

My common sense side says: I understand what they were trying to prove... but broke a lot of laws and hope they don't get caught....

Other thoughts: No machine gun or assualt gun terminology from the press? It was vital that they described the men as large white males with bald heads? Notice the report is that the two guys in the loud music car got out to puff up when words were exchanged, until the "big white bald guys" pulled a gun upon who's sight they "retreated"! Lesson: don't be an ass, ASS! HAHAHA.

Seriously?

So your ok with someone carjacking you at gunpoint if they deem your completely legal, but possibly annoying behavior inappropriate?

WTF, how does loud music justify pointing a gun at someones head? Grand Theft Auto? I hope they are caught and charged, what they did is a violent crime. The Lancer driver should get a noise citation if the McD's wants to persecute them.

Guess I'll have to repost/quote myself too. I did not condone their actions... as much as I'd like to play it through:

My common sense side says: I understand what they were trying to prove... but broke a lot of laws and hope they don't get caught....

And that should probably read: "My common sense side says: I understand what they were trying to prove... but broke a lot of laws and should pay for it."

And make sure you actually watch/listen to the vid too. The text doesn't pull all the details out.

Car 1 trying to order.
Car 2 playing music too loud.
Car 1 asks/yells at Car 2 to turn it down.
Car 2 gets attitude and gets out of car heading for car 1.
Car 1 gets out and draws down (threat of harm retaliation?)
Car 2 gets back in car.
Car 1 says no, gets and pays for order, and takes both cars.

On teh street, Car 2 folks were "disrespectin' and axin' for it" or whatever the terminology was.

In all legalese, yes what Car 1 did was wrong and should be held accountable. I'd rather read this than something along the lines of:

Car 1 trying to order.
Car 2 playing music too loud.
Car 1 asks/yells at Car 2 to turn it down.
Car 2 gets attitude and gets out of car and shoots occupants of car 1.
McDonalds shuts down for an hour... lines out the door.

WTF, cut him some slack. He didn't pull a gun, he posted a thread. I know what he is talking about. I can't stand the loud music listening, direspectful kind of assholes he's talking about. Would I pull a gun on them, no, but I can think it's funny some else did.[Beer]

i have to say, it kind of made me laugh.

i know, i know i am racist.

i pictured immediately 2 urban yutes (thug type) pulling up, bass thumping, gold tooth, bad asses, and they got punked.

i know its wrong, but it feels right on so many levels.

If we don't laugh about it or talk about it.....did it still happen? Sure it did and none of us had anything to do with it. Now what's wrong with laughing? It doesn't change a thing. JEEEEEEESH

I have to agree, I think it is pretty damn funny! Especially the 2 large white males with bald heads! Dont piss off whitey when hes trying to get his burger on
[ROFL2]

If they would have have just used a little common sense and turned the crap off or down when they pulled into the drive thru they would still have their car and would be eating chicken nuggets instead of walking home like bishes!

induldge me.

i know most, if not all of you have seen this and know what i am talking about.

you are at a light, or at a drive thru, wherever. and a nice family is in thier family car, trying to go about thier lives peaceably. up next to them or behind them, pulls up some gangsters. loud music blasting, bass actually makeing them sick. explicit lyrics, etc. parents are trying to shield thier children from the crap. but dad and mom cant even make eye contact with the freaks, because they are afraid of a confrontation. the freaks love this, they prey on the fear of good people. if you look at them, they will yell at you, give you the (i am going to bust a cap in you) look. get out of the car and threaten you, whatever. So this time, the punks thought they would silence the gentlemen in the car ahead of them, by intimidating them. except in this case the people in the car ahead of them, were not a nice family wanting to mind thier own business. this time they had thier hand called. so to speak. I think it is great. is it right? no, would i do it? no. would i recommend doing it? no. i can picture this going down. why no drive thru video? 2 cops, who made a mistake? (it happened in denver last year that cop pulled a gun at a drive thru, so i could happen) a couple servicemen home from Astan or Iraq? who knows. maybe they drive the car into the river or ocean whichever is closer.

remember. these thugs live on intimdating us. so this is justice. maybe not the kind pc America likes, but. i dont care

of course, I could be wrong. it could have been two nice, christian boys, listening to good christian hymns, unfortunately the spirit hit them and they had the music up to loud. all by accident. then when confronted by the obvious white supremacists, they went to pray with them, when the evil, hateful, bald men, car jacked them.

I am sure some of what people on this board do in their daily lives might be considered rude or annoying by other people but that does not mean that it's ok to have someone pull a gun on you. It's retarded, ghetto ass and thug like, irresponsible and unacceptable, no matter who did it. Loud music is annoying. Felony menacing and grand theft auto is a crime. Illegal is illegal. I too hope they get caught and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Although, if I was in a drive through and some people approached my car after an altercation, I would go ready-hand and (if there's room) move out of line, drive a safe distance away, and call the cops.

Interesting, what would you do if your car was blocked in? They break out a window? Etc.

Eh, ignore that. No need to play the "if" games. I still stand by what I said. I'm glad they had a gun pulled on them for acting up. Flame suit on.

I for one always turn on and crank up some of my christian music everytime I hear the thump, thump of that other music at a stop sign. Some of the looks I get are hilarious. But more often than not, they actually turn theirs down.... interesting.

It'd be standard response to a possible threat... breaking glass would mean drawing weapon, laying on the horn, and probably forcing my way out by ramming the car in front of me -- depending on how much threat there is and how fast I (and drivers ahead of me) react. Deff be police time at that point.

My problem isn't that the drivers in the other car reacted, it's that they reacted by carjacking them. Now they're criminals instead of unhurt victims of potential thuggery.

I'm with Bear and a few others (Flame suit on[ROFL1]). But the irony is to much to not laugh at. Everyone has their breaking point, maybe that was theirs. But funny is funny, they tried to play the intimidation game and lost. Would it be funny if it happened to me? No. But probably still would be to most of you guys!

Yes Sir, I think we ALL agree on that point.

But I DO think they (the Car 1 folks) for their point across in a very effiecent (though illegal) way....

I'm out. Take care. [Beer]

SPOKANE-- The vehicle that police say was car-jacked at a North Spokane McDonalds drive thru has been found.
Officers located the Mitsubishi Lancer that was car-jacked and stolen Monday after a fight over loud music. It was found in a vacant lot near 1800 W. Boone, with the stereo missing.

Police say two men in the Lancer pulled up in the McDonalds drive through in the 900 block of Indiana Avenue with loud music playing.
The suspects can only be described as two large male whites with bald heads.

That comes up a lot in arguments. "What if it had been one of us?" It wouldn't have been one of us because, as far as I can tell, nobody here is interested in acting 'gangsta' in a McDonnalds drive-through.

me and my buddy, although it has been a few years used to enjoy pissing people off with his truck, amazingly loud system in it.

was always funny to look at peoples faces and we rolled up, a couple of fair skinned white boys blasting mexican music...we found it funny as hell

I don't play my music loud any more for sake of my hearing but growing up I know I played it loud, no matter what it was, from heavy metal to country.

Luckily no one ever pulled on a gun on them and stole their car.

I want to point out two things.

1) Those guys didn't get guns pulled on them because they were being annoying. They got guns pulled on them because they got out of their car trying to act like thugs.
2) We'd like to hope that these guys learned a lesson to not act tough if they can't back it up, but there is a very strong chance that instead they now have a chip on their shoulder, and will always be carrying guns from now on lest they get punked like that again.

When Gloria first moved here (from Arizona, not El Salvador) she went to a house party, and I guess there was a fight. She later found out that one guy ended up getting stabbed (murdered) and they threw his body in the trunk to go hide it some where.

When she told me that story, I said "Welcome to Colorado, don't go to parties on Federal."

Crime in colorado is nothing compared to the other places I've lived...

Back where I grew up on of my buddies was out in front of his house in the car with his girlfriend when a couple of thugs rolled up to his car, and pulled a gun on him.

They forced him and his girl into his house, tied him up and forced the girl to gather all the money in the house.

Luckily, his folks were Metro PD and he had managed to trip the alarm system. The thugs took off once they heard sirens.

who knows what would've happened to them next.

Makes me glad I don't live there anymore. But you get used to it.

Don't hang out in secluded areas, don't stay out past 12:00AM, be aware of your surroundings, etc.

BigBear
06-03-2010, 08:16
This one time... (at band camp, kidding)... three vatos tried to mug me... but, I "won". "That crazy cracker has a gun!"

Anyways, I'm sure we've all played music way too loud sometimes when we were younger. Some of us probably still play it too loud. The point was/is: I would like to think that all of us here on this wonderful board would be kind enough to turn down/off our music when in a fast food ordering line. I would also like to think that none of us would get out of our cars and try to pick a fight when someone asks us to turn it down.... To me it's common sense and politeness, two things that are not taught musch anymore.

Second topic, crime in colorado is neglible considering some of the other (unfortunate) places I've gotten to live: Spain, Brazil, Germany (really like how they deal with thugs, lol), So Cal, etc.

Irving

For the record, my "Welcome to Colorado" comment wasn't supposed to mean that we have high crime and that is the norm. More along the lines of a suspect first experience for anywhere.
