Any street-wise members here? Writing a mystery and one of the characters is a little addicted to pain meds- Vicodin, Oxycontin, and Percocet. Not sure what these go for on the street. Anyone know what these meds cost per pill? I don't know any users/dealers and I hate writing stuff that ain't true. Have heard $10 a pill but... Let me know-greatly appreciated.

I've heard of women paying for them with cooter but that is the extent of my knowledge!! Good luck with your book!!

Google for the win, there are others if you search for "street price" and those drugs. Remember to price yours a bit higher since a book lasts for a long time and prices always go up.

Also, if the person in your book is on those drugs, go to current.tv vanguard series and look for the episode about the "Pain Management" clinics in Florida that feed prescription drug habits all over the country. Crazy stuff

I know some pill heads, they usually pay a buck a mg. So if its a vicodin 500 it contains 5mg of hydrocodone its $5. Percocet the same way if its a 10mg percocet its $10. The biggies are Oxycotin (spelling?) a 80mg oxycotin is $80! Im no angel but that was part of my past and since past is past I share what I learned the hard way.[NoEvil]

I knew a dude who OD'd on 80mg of Oxycontin. I think he had some beers and two 80mg pills. I don't know if that is a large amount or anything, but I know that he is dead.

Of course, I also knew a bouncer who died from drinking energy drinks too much. Like 10+ a day of Rockstar.

Yeah, thats alot, especially mixed with alcohol. I've seen guys snort'em like pixi sticks just depends on your tolerance. To bad Stuart terrrible way to go out, definetely not worth the risk for a high, none of it is thats why I've been straight and clean for 10+ years now and only 35 yrs old, lucky for me I learn fast.

Sorry about that guy you knew if he was a close friend. 80mg is a lot in my opinion. After my neck surgery taking 2 Oxy 10mg had me loving life!
