Rgr, just give Sherriff Terry Maketa a call and he'd be happy to set up an appointment, etc. I was going to persue one last year... but crap happens and I didn't have the $$.

yeah the office on costilla and cascade.
you will need the form 1 printed front and back on one piece of paper(trust me I know lol)
2 sets of finger prints
2 passport photos
and the certificate of compliance.
you can find the forms on the ATF web site or titleii.com

unless they changed something you dont need an appointment, just walk in drop it off at the front desk and they will call you when its done. when I did it about 2yrs ago they called me the next day, but a friend did one more recently and it took about a week.

While I have the sheriff's number in my duty phone, I would hesitate to call him directly. (I do talk to his secretary on a regular basis)
