OK I came to visit an out of state friend who just bought a Glock. He asked me if I could drop in a Ghost rocket connector. I said sure, dropped it in, reinstalled the slide and ....those of you who have a Ghost know that it has to be fitted,I did not. Long story short I can not get the top end back off. [Bang] Ive taken out the back plate, extractor and all stuff from rear. Still no luck.

Ive called Ghost till Im blue, no answer, no call back...

Any ideas?

I'm not sure if this post will help but it's worth a shot:

The author describes working with it when it's stuck.

If you have backplate off already, then you can follow the instructions in the linked post above to release the connector, and be able to disassemble the pistol.

If for some reason you can't figure that out or it doesn't work for you, then Neve's in Denver will be doing their "Glock Days" promotion the 19th and 20th of August, where you can bring your glock in to be worked on and updated for free by Glock-certified armorers. They supply the armorers, Glock supplies the parts, as a free promotion.

Once you get the guts out of the slide, work the trigger forward (push in the safety and then push the trigger forward). This should let you get the slide the rest of the way off.

I personally don't like the Ghosts... The are leave then reset and the wall before the break feeling mushy. That's nice in boobies, not so nice in your glock trigger.

A Glock "-" or a ghost connector, with a NY1 trigger spring, is still stock-trigger pull, but with a firm and positive reset, and smooth with little creep. Just FYI.

The Ghost is made with a thinner body than the OEM 3.5 disconnector. This is where the difference in feel comes from. The OEM '-' disconnector is really about 4.5lbs. The Lone Wolf 3.5lb disconnector is much better than the Ghost IMO if you desire the crisp break and cannot find an OEM disconnector.

With the standard trigger spring and the OEM '-' disconnector, the trigger is about 4.0-4.5lbs. After tweaking and a polish job, I can get the trigger into the 3.0 area with a nice crisp break and reset. With even more tweaking and a complete change of springs, I can get a trigger into the 2.0-2.25lbs range with consistant ignition of fed and win primers. Any other primers is a crap shoot.

With the old black polymer NY trigger spring the best you are going to get after tweaking and polishing is about 5.0lbs with the '-' disconnector or a 3.5 lbs aftermarket. With the olive green NY-1 it ends up even heavier. I've broken both OEM and aftermarket (std and competition weight) trigger springs. The advantage you gain from the NY trigger spring is they seem to last a hell of a lot longer. Now the comparison of a 5.0lb disconnector with the OEM trigger spring and the '-' disconnector with a NY-1 trigger spring are really close, about .5 lbs or so.

Ultimately, the biggest issue with all of this is the inconsistancy that results from trying to weigh a glock trigger regardless of the set-up. They just seem to defy any trigger weighing mesurement device existing at the moment. The results come out to +/- 1lb or sometimes even more. To make matters worse, none of the experts can agree on a set testing sequence or parameters for this either... So, everyone just ends up going by feel.

Friday did a heck of a job on mine triggers with just a polish job... good stuff there. I wish there was some way to completely get rid of 99% of travel with a solid break and have the lowest amount of reset possible but eh, can't have everything I want in a trigger, lol.

I pull, it goes bang. Everything else is icing.

Ok guys thanks for the words and links. I got it back together and working. Directions said to remove a thousand till it would dry fire....only took 56. Seems it would have been in a closer neighborhood but with so many, I guess it had to be. I would t put my money in one IMO.
