Just thought I would throw this one reminder out there. If someone commits to buying something you're selling, then deal with that person. Don't sell the item from out from under them when they're making every effort to meet up with you in a timely fashion!!

What the hell, people don't have honor anymore?

It happens man, if a meet was arranged and the item was sold out from under me then I'd be pissed. Otherwise I'd say it seems understandable that a seller can deal with whomever he or she likes.

ETA: I had a chat with another member here who drove down from Glenwood Springs to find the a-hole had just sold it. Now that seller is an ass.

Agreed, but there's also the folks who commit to a purchase and then drop off the face of the planet or just stop communicating. Getting a bit frustrated with those two tactics by buyers. Sure we've all had to back out of a purchase at one point or another and hell I've even bought stuff that I mistakenly thought was what I needed just to turn around and re-list it.

It's frustrating on both ends and this is why we have the feedback section.

I've been on both sides too. But I had said that I'd take them, and was in the middle of emails with the guy about where and when we could meet. It's not like I said I'd take them, and then didn't get back with the guy for 3 days.

Can't count the number of times that I was in negotiations, or went as far as thinking the deal was sealed, and the next communication I received was.....

I SOLD it to someone else. [Mad]

When I am selling, I deal with the FIRST person to contact me, until we are DONE. One way or the other.

I tell everyone else that the item is potentially sold, and that if that deal falls through, I will let them know. I tell them, you are second in line....third.....etc.

i offer the first contact a moderate time frame to shit or get off the pot. yes i've had to back off from a deal due to other financial needs. However to say you will buy it, then not contact the seller afterwards is just bad for old chap, bad form.

I've bought and sold a bunch of guns and other stuff on this site. 99% of the buyers and sellers have been great. I can go as far to say, that I'm a better person for meeting some of them. The very very very few douche bags that you meet here, are few and far in between.

If you say your going to buy something, then buy it. Unless, you get there and it is not as described. Pics don't mean nothing. If the product is not as described in the ad, then I don't feel obligated to buy it. However, that has never happened to me on this site.

If you are broke and you need the money fast, you should include in the post that you will sell to the first person who shows up with the dough. I don't see anything wrong with that. When your broke, you're broke.

I have been burned by Craigslist and various other sites so many times my ass is ashy....
I honestly would have no quandaries with "Money talks - Bullshit walks" policy...
I have a treadmill and a fuel tank Ive sold like 3 times....
"Ohh yeah, I'll be there tomorrow with the cash!"

No Show...

So I agree, if the Buyer puts in the ad "First money"... by all means.

but I Also agree that we all don't have the scheduling freedom to drop what we are doing at 10am and run to the other side of the state to pay for something.

Drop that shit in the ad... be a grownup

and yes I Do still have the treadmill and the 105 Gal "L" Shape fuel tank

I just won't do Craigslist anymore. Got sick of answering the same million questions from 100 people then having no one show up.
