I'll soon be ordering a Del-Ton AR-15 kit and wanted to know what the 2 stage trigger does for the performance of the gun. I can add it to the kit for 80 bucks and I wanted to know if it's worth the investment. This will be my first AR and I really like a crisp trigger pull on my rifles. Will I notice a significant difference? Thanks

Worthwhile addition. For a true "Drop In" trigger they arent bad. Especially for $80.00.
It will give you a clean breaking 4-5 lb trigger.

They are a worthwhile investment and much better than the standard trigger you get in a LPK. Break is very crisp and repeatable.

I have the JP fire control system on one of my ARs, which I prefer, but the costs jumps another $120+ and it isn't a drop in. Timney, Wilson Combat and Giessele also have great triggers for the AR but cost can be as much as three times what you are able to get the RRA for.

I have RRA 2 stage triggers in 4 of my AR's. They're not bad, but they're still 2 stage with quite a bit of take up. And since they have M1/M14 style trigger hooks, you can't do anything with them. I couldn't really call them crisp. I just put a full JP kit (with speedhammer) in my 6.5 Grendel, and a trigger/spring kit in my SPR. I like the RRA triggers more than stockers, but I have to say that I plan on putting JP triggers in any new AR's, and in my varmint gun. If you have any mechanical/gunsmithing ability and you read the instructions and watch the DVD the trigger isn't hard to fit. The RRA's are decent 2 stage triggers, but if you like a crisp trigger without creep the JP's are the way to go. I was amazed how good they were. And if you modify the stock hammer the way it shows in the instructions, with their springs it's as good as the full kit with speedhammer. I don't like their captive pins, I'd rather use a KNS nonrotating pin kit. So I'd recommend the Trigger kit (trigger and springs), and use a dremel with a cutting wheel to modify the stock hammer per their instructions. I actually cut the hammer back a bit further than they showed, almost matching their speed hammer in profile. Brownell's has them for $140 and up.
