All they wanted to do was live......

and then they got fleas- with Bubonic plague..

the worst thing anyone did was call these prairie "dogs".. they should have named them prairie "rats"
A classic example of "save the cute" syndrome!

anyone who has sympathy for them needs to see pictures of a horse that has to be put down after breaking a leg that dropped into one of their holes..

Nice, loks like you had some good time shooting.
How far were the .17HMR shoots?
What were you average distance shoots?

it was a long poke with his AR. it took him three shots to get a hit.
he had some custom loads done and that gun ROCKS!!

with the .17 hmr i have had good hits out to 300 yards with little wind.
Its a savage with the heavy barrel and a bsa sweet 17 scope. with the suppressor on we did some shooting at paper to zerro in. it would group less than 1/4" at 100 yards.

Does that .17 HMR really have that much report from the barrel where you would hear a significant difference using a suppressor? I've never heard one before.

Where you using an SWR Specter?

i was using the specter, AWSOME can.

it does make alot of difference.
last month i took my father in law out shooting dogs and he has a 17 hmr
every time he shot the dogs would run and hide.
i took out three dogs on the same hole with three shots and they did not move.
it drops the noise down just below a normal 22 lr

[ROFL1] Now that is pure gold right there!

I particularly like the images of the truck - with the rifles on top it presents a "tacticool" appearance!

Where did you get your barrel threaded at? I've got the same set up and want to put my newly acquired spectre on it for punching dogs!

Man I miss that sport. But can you really call it hunting? Maybe to find a town but.......I'm just sayin'.

I have a .17 Remington upper that I can't wait to try out, and this just makes me want to take it out more.

It does remind me of the time I took a shot at a sodrat at about 100 yards, with a 7mm Rem Mag, and connected. Sucked the little bugger right up out of the hole (at least, his bottom half....all that was left of him) and flung him about 25 feet downrange. I wish I'd have a video camera going!

My father in law has one of these and it is overkill to say the least, but you get a good chuckle when you see what is left over[ROFL1]

They're rodents... Nothing like a "Dog".

Now my Chocolate Lab is a DOG!

Where is the Town located...

Does anyone know of a good town on the Pawnee Grasslands and if so, the crossroads or long / lat?

I have a Thunder Beast Arms Corp .223P can on my 14.5" LMT SBR AR-15 I've wanted to try Prairie Rat hunting with.

Thanks!
