So I found a local holster maker (well he's down in Pueblo ... so he's kinda local-ish).

Lobo Gun Leather. (http://www.lobogunleather.com)

I just dropped off my CZ 75 SA .40 with him this morning since it seems that NOBODY makes a holster for it, so I'll be posting a complete review when I get the holster (he's saying a couple weeks ... which is much better than the "couple months" many holster makers are up to).

Ray is retired CSPD who apparently can't stay "retired" so he's making holsters. Seemed like a real nice guy and its refreshing to do business with someone based on a handshake.

Based on what I saw of his work, its clear to me that he's charging way too little (base price for the pancake is $41.95!).

Anyway, in the spirit of Buy Colorado! anyone needing some custom leather at good prices should consider Ray.

Here's a couple pics from the thread (http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=527218) where I discovered his work over on THR.

Hmm thanks for the tip, I might have to get one of those Pancake style holsters.

He's in Aurora and also makes lots of CZ holsters. I love mine.

I had talked to Bob at Hazel ... yes, they make some nice stuff too (unfortunately they're not taking orders at the moment).

So we have at least two good leather guys here in CO ... if only we could get a handful of gun manufacturers here too.

If I had the startup capital I'd go into making custom frames for the Sig P250 series. No licenses required since the actual "gun" is their drop in trigger package. Imagine a poly frame molded to your hand, with your choice of laser/light integrated into the actual frame.

Also, a 5-axis mill and you're in the lower receiver business pretty quickly too.

Ya know Hoosier, I had the same thought when I saw this recent post (http://www.theospark.net/2010/06/got-to-get-one.html) on Theo Spark's blog.
