Since the ammo shortage I have had a heck of a time finding 10mm. I was thinking of getting a Lone Wolf 10mm to .40 cal conversion barrel just so I could dust off the G20. Has anyone tried out the barrels, any issues (other than being forced to shoot .40 cal through a perfectly good 10mm)?
I've heard nothing but good about them. That said, why don't you buy your ammo online? 10mm is hard enough to find in stores when there aren't ammo shortages... There are lots of places to buy 10mm online, and its cheaper too. [Beer]

I guess I also could have looked down the thread page to where it says 10mm Glock to 40 cal. Sorry
I just purchased a Lone Wolf 6" barrel for my Glock 20. It look great. I have not shot it yet, but when I cycle rounds through the gun with 3 seperate 15 rounds mags it is a jam master. When I cycle rounds through my 10 round mag is performs just fine. I am going to shoot it to see if there is any break in. If it still jams with the 15 round mags then it will be going back.

I have KKM .357, .40, and 9x25mm conversion barrels for my G20. I use an XP recoil spring for full power 10mm and the 9x25mm so I'm not chasing brass into the next county. They are tight match barrels, factory ammo usually works best. When I use reloads that have not been properly resized I tend to get failures to chamber completely. With the .40 and .357 barrels the stock recoil spring usually works fine, but I get the best reliability when using reduced power 16 or 15 pound springs.
I have not tried it myself, but I read on Glocktalk a while ago that when using .40 and .357 conversion barrels, long-loaded ammo tends to feed the most reliably in the longer G20 magazines. Seating the bullets out to 10mm max length (10mm is 1.26" vs .357 1.14") allows you to stuff more powder in the case for better performance too. I'm partiularly fond of the idea of long-loading standard 9mm bullets (designed for 9x19mm) into .357 cases to get a reliable OAL with cheaper bullets. Doing this you can then load them up to velocities approaching 9x25mm (a 125gr FMJ @ 1600 fps should be easily attainable).
If doing this you'd need to make sure the rifling on the barrel is not interfering with the chambering of the loaded round. Some experimentation with different bullets, or throating of the chamber may be necesary to ensure you're not creating dangerous pressures.

Cool thanks for the post, that is exactly the kind of info I was looking for. Were the KKM barrels drop in or did you have to fit them?

Kevin makes both.
I have Storm Lake dual port in 10mm and SW 40 - so far so good.
I've ran over 1500 rnds of 40 S&W through my factory G20 barrel with no malfunctions.
