Ok lets here what you guys say about 9mm dies. I am leaning towards a carbide, but I have seen some pretty screwed up loads (all of them by DocMedic) but want to hear your experences with differing makes.

With pistol dies I love Lee. I've used their 4 piece sets for a number of different calibers with outstanding results. They're inexpensive, my rounds have performed flawlessly and they have EXCELLENT customer service. I know you can spend more on pistol dies but I don't see the point.

Definitely get the carbide dies whatever kind you get, and take a good look at the Lee factory crimp die.

Good luck!

carbide. Wouldn't use anything else.

Lee dies I've used were pretty good, I had issues with the decapping pin always moving, no matter how tight I set the lock on top.

Like my RCBS dies, haven't use any other brands than Lee or RCBS.

hope this helps.

Lee or Rcbs
Absolutely Carbide.

For the minimal extra $$ they will last longer, no lube required, etc.

No question.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the feedback.

But I think I need a progresive loader first. My single stage is wearing me out. I think I can get a Dillon 550 for about 450 shipped, so thats where I will start.

RCBS

Now if only RCBS would figure out that the 9x19 is a tapered case and their dies need to reflect this to get rid of the cokebottle.

Redding dies size the case further down than other brands.

Interesting. I've been using the same RCBS 9mm dies for over 30 years and never had an issue.
