I voted Novak, and being the first vote all is right in the world and everyone agrees with me. [Beer]

My wilson mags work best for me, but I haven't tried some of the others.
I voted Colt
Colt 7 rounders have hybrid feed lips, taper with a slight flair. These position the round higher and feed it upward. They work. These are available only from Brownells or Colt. Checkmate industries also has these. Checkmate is a subcontractor for Colt.
Otherwise I like genuine USGI mags with full taper feed lips. There are alot of fake ones at the gun shows.
The CMC/McCormick, Wilson and most others have wadcutter feed lips, straight with an abrupt flair, that won"t feed well in all guns. The Colt 8 rounder is a CMC mag.
I voted other. Not sure who makes the Springfield mags. I just bought a bunch with the coupon they sent with the pistol. They have worked fine for years. I have tried Colt and Wilson mags too. For some reason the Wilson mag would not hold the slide on empty. Other than that, it worked and fed great. I like Colt mags too.

I have about a dozen and a half GI issue mags with wadcutter feed lips that are great quality. They feed anything, every time. The last time I found some, I got them brand new in the brown paper pouch for $12 each.

Personal preferance are Wilson Combat. Run 10 rounders for limited 10 and ETMs for range. They have never failed in my Caspian. Always drop free and the base pad on the ETM is fantastic.
Also like the McCormick's as well, except for their followers. This is why I choose Wilson over CMC is the quality of follower.

I voted Wilson.
I had a military issue mag from my perrsonal sidearm in the Army, my Springfield (bought used) came with a Wilson 8-round and another SS 7-round that looks just like the military except in SS.
The wilson works flawlessly, while both others tend to get stuck during insetion into the mag well and do not feed as well.

Trip Cobra mags for me. Never had a problem with one ever. I have many other brands too just prefer the Cobras for CC.

Every one of my Wilsons gave me 100% reliability.
Out of three CMCs, two consistently self-destructed on me during matches & practical shooting drills and the rebuild kits sent to me didn't fix the problem.
The stock Kimber mag that came with my old Custom II worked just fine for a plain-Jane 7-round steel magazine.

I have historically used Wilson Combat 47D with very good results.
I recently purchased new pairs each of: Nighthawk Custom, Tripp Cobramag, Wilson EMT to test and will be running 1k rounds down my new 1911 to break it in before sending it off to get some bad-a** coating done on it (DLC, Melonite, or Hard Chrome-brushed..yet to make up my mind).
I'll be happy to post the results of the testing when completed if anyone is interested.
Thanks.

I like the Tripp mags. I run in USPSA single stack and demand the highest level of perfomance. The Tripps are really well made, have good followers, good springs and are easy to disassemble for cleaning. For competition, I picked up a set of the Dawson Precision aluminum base pads, which I really like too. My runner up mags are the McGar 8rd stainless. These are the same as the Novak/Act mags, but the stainless models don't crack. They can be difficult to find sometimes, but the stainless McGars work really well and have held up for years of competition. The reason I prefer the Tripps is because they hold the nose of the first round just a little higher for slightly smoother feeding (similar to Wilson). Wilson mags work great, but are more work too disassemble and the 47Ds are have to really be smacked in to ensure they seat properly. One less thing to worry about with Tripp mags.

I have a kimber mag and some wilsons... and the strangest thing happens with them. The wilsons feed my golden sabers and DPX like a champ, but occasionally fail to feed the last round of fmj! My kimber mag feeds fmj and golden sabers with no problem but refuses to feed the first round of DPX... guess it depends on the combination of ammo, magazine, and gun together ranther than just the gun and mag combo.
