I just saw this and it really put things into perspective. Living in Colorado I'd see the news every couple days and think "Crap, that things still leaking?". While the people directly affected were losing their minds not seeing something be done. Anywho, here's the video my friend whole lives in LA sent me. Makes me steam seeing an event turn into a crisis that they won't let go to waste [Rant1]
Feel free to discuss..

Hilarious. The comments are classic. Here's my favorite, how do people come up with this shit? Is there just some percentage of people who can't cope with reality?
I own Petrobras stock, and it's been a dog, one of my two losers.

He isn't leading, he is following orders.... this whole disaster is orchestrated by George Soros. (a communist billionaire who made his dough on weapons and crashing the british pound - guess what he is doing now?) it's all a plan to destroy America and the dollar for "global governance" = global communism! THe plan is to cancel our oil drilling and send all drilling to Brazil. where Soros invested in Petrobras (state owned oil co that found a new oil reserve deep u;nderwater outside of Brazil) Soros got Obama to promise Petrobras $2billion investment ..... then they got BP to put $20 Billion in an account - guess where $2B is going....? meanwhile all other oil rigs in Gulf is moving on down to Brazil - just as planned....while US looses jobs, $$$, industry, our environment. Speaking of..... the goal here is to push through Cap and trade... = taxing the air we breath....for more control of the world.... but wasn't Cap & trade supposed to "save" the environment....? NO - has nothing to do with it. it's all about money and control and communism. They have no regard for anyone or the environment. it's all a scam
Well, he is right about Cap and Trade.
goal here is to push through Cap and trade... = taxing the air we breath.
Which part of that is right? The air you breathe is not going to be taxed. The air that a company dumps tons of pollutants into? Taxed.
H.
The part that Cap and Trade is just about making more money taxing resources, and not at all about any other motive.

I'm just really getting tired of the sweet-nothings in my ear and the gentle crotch-rub while all of the politicians buddy's are shackling my feet and stealing my wallet.

I consider the entire Obama administration to be a giant spill slowly wreaking it's destruction across the entire country. I really can't imagine what would've compelled anyone to vote for him or, if they did, why they would still support him. He, along with democrat control of the house and senate (with the idiots they have in charge), is quite possibly the worst disaster our country has ever faced.

Love it! I have a widget on my Mac that's a countdown timer to when Obama leaves office, I check it every day with love :).
It looks like he didn't even aim at all
Sounds like criticism of my shooting [ROFL2]
This is moderately frustrating to me. While the video has a good degree of validity, speaking as someone who is providing direct support (IT wise) to US Fish and Wildlife responders, of which we have more than 400, only behind the EPA and US Coat Guard for deployed personnel, We are doing a shit load of work down there. We've got folks tracking the oil, cleaning up where it lands, "Keeping our heel on BP's neck"... what I can tell you for sure is that BP is not running the show. Admiral Allen is doing a kick ass job of keeping those greedy bastards in check in more ways than the haters and press want to tell you all.
So yeah, its frustrating, I know that internally many of us feel like our own PR folks are failing in a huge way to get the word out about just how much (and how much good) our folks are doing. These guys and gals are working 14-18 hour days, 14 days straight, with only 2 days off before doing it all over again. They are away from their families and children, they are setting aside their lives to take on these tasks and all most folks want to do is bitch. Maybe some gratitude towards the actual folks doing the work would be nice for a change. The people responding to this didn't cause the problem and have gone above and beyond what many would even begin to understand or do themselves.
Yeah, screw the administration, they aren't doing the best of jobs here (or in just about any facet), but the .gov folks with boots on the ground are doing an incredible job. While I'm not a huge fan of Salazar and the way he's run his mouth about many aspects of this event, things like the break up and restructuring of the Mineral Management Service (MMS) are parts of solving many of the problems that the Department of Interior faces. While there is a shit load more going on, I imagine you guys really aren't interested in how at least my facet of the government is actually doing things right. Believe it or not, we are not the Administration, we are the people that keep things going in the right direction despite the common belief.
Seems like people always color the entire federal government the shade of the current administration. Happened under Bush too. The vast majority of people who work for the government are salaried people with a job to do, and who is in the White House doesn't usually factor in.
