View Full Version : New Project: Restore Tool Box.
So, after nearly 12 years of sitting out in the weather, being toss around trucks, beat on at various jobsites, and sitting in the back for the last 3 years. The time has come to restore this to it's former glory. Or, a little better.

I've got most of a can of silver spray paint if you need it.
Thanks Stu, I'm sure that will do the trick...[Tooth]
A white Chevy Blazer was tailgating me while hauling ass North up Federal tonight around 6:00 pm-ish today. I saw the driver but couldn't tell if it was you or not.
Now back on topic. Are you going to just sand it down and repaint it or what? I guess I've never really thought of what goes into "restoring" a metal box. I have a snap on tool box that is in worse condition. Are you going to keep it the same color? Any flames? In the words of Carl from Aqua Teen Hunger Force, "It looks like my pool is tearin' ass around the back yard, but it's just sittin' there!"
Nope innocent of that. I was home at 6.
Yeah, sand it down, fix a few rust spots, and repair the hinge.
What about a liner for inside the drawers? Also, while you're at it, you should rig it up to play your favorite song* when you open the top. Or a little camera to take a picture of whoever is stealing your tools.

Funny this comes up. One of my co workers got a crash cart for work but he had to paint it another color than the blue it was. Having a little paint around I told him that I had some orange.
First pic after the "Orbit Orange" that was a 70-71 GTO judge color. I could not leave well enough alone so tomorrow I will post a pic after the enhancements. Just broke it up a little.

The $5 paint job. The Orange is some that back when I had a Judge I bought a qt each of lacquer from PPG and Dupont. Got to use it over 20 years later.....
Rattle can charcoal fade with a gold pinstripe. It sits around here much longer and I will do more crap to it. ;)
go to walmart and get a bunch of the $1 spray paint.
sand it down or if you have access to a sand blaster do that. prime, spray, clear coat and you are done! then put a ton of pro gun stickers all over it, and some anti-obama ones too[Beer]
