It is funny. It is sad too b/c it means we know who Dora is.

The ONLY reason I know is because I have a 4 yr old neice and her mother is forcing her to learn spanish because she insists it will replace English when she's an adult... how SAD is that? (and no, my wife and I do not associate very much wtih her except to watch the niece)

Be happy that you don't know.

It's a kids cartoon. Bilingual kid that goes around and explores.

I REFUSE to let her watch that SpongeBob crap and some other shows. I tell her to get outside and play but all she wants to do is sit in front of TV cause "that's what mommy lets me do". So, basically, her mother is letting the TV raise her kid! grrr... Wife n I will take her to the zoo, go picnicing, go to the pool, invite over other friends with kids for a playdate, etc....

There is nothing wrong with Sponge Bob.

Diego is even worse that Dora. Many cartoons are made with adults in mind (like Sponge Bob and Phineus and Ferb), but cartoons like Diego, Dora, and everything on Sprout is made just for kids, and that makes them nearly unwatchable.

One time we rented a Diego movie for our kid. I hid it after a few days so I didn't have to watch/hear it anymore (besides, it was due back anyway). When our daughter asked for it, I told her "Sorry, Diego got deported back to the video store this morning."

Then she grabbed her potty stool out of the bathroom, took it into her room and used it to reach on top of the DVD player (where I "hid" the video) and bring me the DVD and say, "No dad! It's right heeeeeeere!"
That was just yet another time that she grew mentally and physically faster than I anticipated and totally punked me. She never did get the joke though.

I'm surprised I haven't seen a lot of back lash against Handy Manny. I'm sure it's out there, I just haven't seen it yet.

Handy Manny isn’t as irritating as Dora or DiegoJ

I’ve been telling my daughter for at least 2 yrs that Dora and Diego are illegal’s!

The one that gets me, because the damned song gets stuck in my head, is "Calliou". Good stories very educational for a 2 year old but Man, some of these songs...

Oh, and "Martha Speaks"

That kid will plop down in front of the TV and watch the whole program without a peep.

I'm glad someone else knows who Calliou is. I always think of him as the baby version of Georges St. Pierre. It took me forever to realize that one of the unique things about Calliou is that the drawing never reaches the edge of the screen.

The worst of all is Barney. He drove me so crazy I told my son the TV was broken and couldn't get him. I got caught for that. My cousin sent the complete collection of Alvin and the Chipmunk cartoons and my son watched it nonstop for a year or so. Those songs are like a dentist's drill.

Heh, I never had a problem with Barney personally. We're watching Sesame Street right now. It's a pretty good show that people sometimes forget about.

Anyone remember Blinky's Fun Club?

I still watch a bunch of cartoons. I have friends that see animation as strictly for kids and just don't understand that cartoons are funny.

I remember Two Angry Beavers.

My favorites right now are Chowder, Misadventures of Flapjack, and Adventure Time.
