Hey guys, we need to start looking at options for pre-school/day care in the Westminster area. Our daughter will be 3 soon. I've looked online a little, but don't really know one place from another. Anyone have any recommendations?

I used a local church for my son, and was very happy with them (in Lakewood).

Was it free? I think there is a free one in Wheat Ridge, but I haven't looked into it because it is out of the way.

No, it wasn't free-

You'll have to shop around, but look to a place that you can trust.

Show up unannounced and see what you can see.

Scratch that whole free part. I just remembered that the person who told me about it would probably drop all 6 of her kids off at a meth lab if it were free. I don't know what I was thinking.

Look for a city or county run Headstart Program. They are more of a school setting than just "daycare" letting the kids play and watch movies etc. My kids got a great Headstart on their schooling by spending a couple years in this program.

hey, they even have a nice website...

My first 2 children were Headstart kids here in Boulder and they LOVED it! There is in income limit to participate but if you can get in it's great for the kids. My only "issue" with Headstart here in Boulder was that when I drove up in my beat up Corolla to drop off my son 10 years ago, and my daughter 2 years ago...I had to park next to people who "qualified" but drove Escalades

Learn a new trade?

kidding...

Just be careful that you dont send your kids to a church daycare and one day they come home and tell you "Mrs. johnson says you are going to burn in hell because you are a republican." or some crap.

Indoctrination is easy for a 3 year old.

but usually you can pay a monthly rate if you don't qualify for the free, and its usually a better rate than daycare.
