Here is where we set up at first.

After shooting there for about an hour we moved closer to the windmill.

After lunch we moved even further south to here.

It is just over 300 yards to the corner of the pasture, 280 to the fence line on the south.

Spent the rest of the afternoon there.

Now for the carnage

17hmr does not do the damage a 204 or 223 does but it still kills them fine

204 is just a little more devastating, even at long ranges

This one flattened out nice, reminded me of a bear skin rug.

BOOM HEADSHOT!

Oh and we had plenty of ammo. My boys only shoot 17hmr and I also shot a lot of it.

I wish our land up there had prairie dogs. I only ever see antelope. Maybe I ought to actually take a stroll around and see if I see any. Cool pictures. Sounds like you and your boys had fun.

The land owner calls them "Pop-up-biodegradable-reactive targets." :D

I almost forgot the best part. Right after I shot one a badger came out of no where and snatched the flopping prairie dog, drug it back to it's hole, and started chomping on it. It was cool.
