i love my gemtech outback II. i have it on a pistol, and have 2 threaded rifle barrels as well. i have had it now for a couple of years and have put lots of rounds through it. i wonder what the life expectancy of the can is, right now i would guess it to have over 1000 rounds through it. just curious if anyone else has experience with long term high round counts?

wow, thats a lot of rounds. any issues with it? i know they say that the more you use it the quieter it gets, but i am not so sure.
I don't see how it could get quieter as you use it. It's been a long time, and I don't remember if you can disassemble that model or not. As long as you can take it apart and clean it, then it should theoretically last forever, as there are no moving parts and no direct contact with the bullet. Baffle strikes and filling with lead is what ruins a .22 can.
It seems like it is still as quiet as when I got it.
That's the way it should be. From what I understand.
