Man, am I dreaming? I coulda swore somebody here had an Enfield No.4 Mk.1 rifle for sale, with a bayonet, that the stock had been painted gray. Price was $200. But I can't find the thread, I can't find my posts in that thread, can't find any trace of it ever existing. Seems like the seller was around Boulder.

Anybody know what I'm talking about? Was that thread here and is it still for sale?

It was Pale Painter and the price was $250 if I remember correctly.

Well, I'm glad you sold it, I was getting sorely tempted! But I didn't realize your closing the thread would erase all traces of it, that was driving me nuts trying to find it!

Is there really a demand for them? I have a few Lee Enfields dating back to my C&R FFL days. One is one of the #4 Mk2's that had been unissued. That's one of my pry out of my cold dead hands guns but I do have some others.

I'm not a purist collector and just have to have a perfect specimen, but I wouldn't mind having a long Enfield that's a nice shooter, for a decent price. I have a very nice No.5 carbine that I can't seem to hit diddly with.

No. 5's are known for a "wandering zero". It drove the Brits nuts, and they eventually traced it to lightening cuts made in the receiver. But I've never heard of one that didn't wander around on a target. That's the only reason I've never bothered to acquire one.

I found mine in a pawn shop in Grand Junction for $150, couldn't pass it up. It's the real deal too, not a modified No.4 clone. Matching number's, has all the right No.5 features and is in great shape. It's had the receiver d&t'd for a scope mount is the worst damage on it. The rear sight was missing but I've found several complete ones (correct 800 yd. sights), I've put a correct sling on it, and refinished the wood.

My Enfield was a great shooter. The barrel was in excellent shape and after some work on it, funtioned like new. I didn't like the hassle of getting the 303 ammo. They are fantastic guns though.

I bought the green Enfield. I am more of a purist but it is apparent that a lot of hours went into making this one nice. Being a new member COAR-15 it was my first purchase off this board. I've already mounted a scope and can't wait to shoot it.

That Jungle Carbine really came out nice for $150.00. I had a Gibbs No.4 that was in new shape but I sold it as soon as I needed a little cash.

I did a quick look at my stuff. I have 1 #4 Mk 1 and two #4 Mk2's. All in VG or better shape. The #4 Mk1 is a bit more collector, really good shape, some rarer WWII stuff. I also bought it on ebay. How many of you have real guns bought there?

I'll need chance to look at them better and take pictures if I sell them. A package deal per gun sounds cool. An original sling, bandolier, stripper clips and a choice of spike or bowie bayonet. Every gun should have a bayonet. I think the blade bayos look better but for some reason spike ones seem more expansive now. Also toss in a 48 round box of Greek HXP ammo. Non corrosive & reloadable.

What about pricing? I was thinking $250 for the #4 Mk2's and $300 for the #4 Mk1?
