I attended my first ever service rifle match today. As some of you read from my previous post, I was asking questions about a AR15 in M4 config. My firend that was going to use his AR15 didn't show up and I took my pride and joy Springfield M1A Supermatch. Here are the scores:

Slow fire standing: 158-1x 200yd
Rapid fire sitting: 167-1x 200yd
Rapid fire prone: 183-1x 300yd reduced
Slow fire prone 172-2x 600yd reduced
Total points: 680 out of a possible 800
I had a great time, will defenitely do it again. And would like to see more people get involved in this sport. There were only 6 people today. Kinda disappointing in my opinion. And I was the only guy shooting a 30 caliber, ie. real rifle, today.

I live in Windsor. So the range is fairly close. I don't have any other equipment aside from the rifle, ear and eye protection, and a spotting scope that is designed for resting on a bench or prone. I have looked on the Creedmoor website, and the shooting jacket is way too expensive. Everything I didn't have was borrowed. Maybe someone knows where I can find some of the equipment used.

yeah i understand what your saying its expensive i know the great thing with high power shooters is most will lend there stuff for others too use. i got support from a junior program that got me started with a rifle and so forth i have slowly been buying everything i need to be on my own, but its expensive. i still dont have everything, but getting there!
