i am about to get a 300 fireball up and running and obviously brass is not as easy to come by as 223, nor as cheap. i also may not want such a distinguishable brass being found. i have never used a brass catcher, so i dont know how bulky they are or if they are realistic to carry anywhere but a range. any ideas or solutions?

I have a Wook. It works great at the range and out hunting. It has the capacity of holding about 100 empty brass casings... unfortunately.... it is only reliable when shooting under 40 rounds. After that it will start to cause jams as the empty casings sometimes won't fully clear the chamber. The issue here is the brass catcher needs to be removed to clear the weapon.
As for usage... they are great to save brass at range work and hunting. As far as a tactical catch where you might have to fire a few rounds.. I wouldn't use it. Having a reliable feeding weapon is more important than catching brass.
