Nice man. What does she want to be when she grows up? Is it too early for that question? It'd be neat to ask your kid the same question every year to see how their interests changed over time.

Cool, she is going to do great! As a reward for her first week, tell her she can come visit us again, I'll take her to go see the baby deer! We have a set of twins and a set of triplets.

Amen to that brother. It seems like a month ago we took a Tow-headed little boy in his best Ninja Turtle jacket and shoes with the matching Ninja Turtle backpack to his first day of 1st grade.
He is now 22 and in college....

To the OP- one of the best things you can do is become involved in her school. That is an element that is missing and one of the major factors in a liberalized and failing public education system. Take a stand and be an ACTIVE part in her education, both of you will reap the benefits from it.

COngrats Dad.

Enjoy it while you can; soon enough the world will alienate her and the kids who hate school will get her believing that it sucks and she'll fight you about going to school.

I hate to be such a downer, but experience speaks loudly.

Take every opportunity to tell her how proud of her you are and how much you love her too. She'll always remember that!

It makes me sad that just being around and taking your kid to school like every parent should, makes a family "close."

I had a lot of proud dad moments today too. Congrats. We need to start putting ours in school too.

Here is one of my recent proud dad moments.

Thanks. They always freaked me out too, until I asked the lady at the Butterfly Pavilion if I could pick them up without getting killed. She said I'd be fine. They basically feel like really big and really strong grasshoppers. Only they are a little more ornery. They will run away for a while, then start to fly away. That one grabbed Gloria's finger in both hands and started biting on her. She said it didn't hurt that bad.
