If everyone freaks out and starts another panic buying frenzy then yeah, prices will go up.
But if not....
BOOO. I can only afford a box or two at a time... If it gets too much more expensive... I'm screwed.

Apparently the ammo ban part is off the table, but they're still considering banning lead fishing weights.
AP story here (http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/U/US_LEAD_AMMUNITION_BAN)
All my lead fishing weights are copper jacketed.
If they ban lead only outlaws will have it... black market lead for sale.

massive amounts of robberies at discount tire, sears, costco and car dealerships where large quantities of lead weights used for balancing tires are kept in stockpiles.
you will see people with stickers of crossing fishing rods X'ing out EPA. major backlash will ensue!
or maybe they will just make some out of a different material or allow them to be coated with copper or tungsten or steel!
California banned lead wheel weights and I guess everyone hates them because they like to fly off and hit other cars all the time.
this will lead to an increase in bismuth prices.
which will lead to an increase in Pepto Bismol prices.
nothing good can come of this.

I, er, uhh
I've been using steel fishing weights for years.
I am not saying there should be a Ban, Just saying that I fish is a reservoir.
You know, that place where our drinking water comes from.
I know it gets treated first and everything, but it just makes sense to me and it cost me nothing extra.

So how the hell did we get here if our fourfathers digested lead?

Anyone ever use...
Hollow points fishing weights?
In the 1/4 oz size?

When are they going to unban things? That would be a crazy idea right?
The EPA denied the request to ban lead bullets. I would expect it to come back again someday.

Last several sets of tires that I've bought, have had steel wheel weights used. Most of the fishing weights on the shelf now are steel. I had to hunt for lead ones a few weeks ago. Steel fishing weights suck, the'ye hard on your line. I'm glad there a lot of lead in car batteries, I've got a small "stockpile" of those.[Tooth] Just need to find a splitshot mould.
