I'm continuing to beef up my TEOTWAWKI stock, and I've started gathering more and more dry goods (rice, wheat, beans etc), and I'm curious what a good way to store them would be. Also, how do you prepare the storage container for long term storage (ie, remove moisture and potential bacteria)? I did a search through the forum for these items but came up less than satisfied, so I'm asking directly. Thank you for your input!

Take a look here. http://www.co-ar15.com/forums/showthread.php?t=19906&page=5
Now for wheat you could use 5 gal buckets and the larger mylar bags. One thing I learned a long time ago was use smaller packaging.
Yes you put that 50lb bag of sugar into one bag but can the wife or kids carry it? I like the size I have because it is right at a #10 can and I can spread it out more.
If you need more info let me know.

FYI-You can get food grade 5 gal. buckets free from most bakeries or groceries.
